Yes ALice it was very Autumy today, I didnt drag my winter coat out Granny but I did where a very thick and cosy cardi when I ventured out. Me too Piq, I was very glam last night in bed, wooly socks, lots of layers and a hot water bottle for added measure, lucky that Mr Pinot is away !! :rotfl:. We have been home all day today trying to catch up on work, housework, homework etc and we shivered all day despite jumpers. DD1 has come down with a humdinger of a cold, throat, temperature the works and in the end I decided to succumb and switch the heating on for 10 mins to take away the chill. Guess what ??? It didnt work !!! After all the money spent on it earlier in the year,it didnt work again. I called in a friend who fixed it a few months ago and it is the immersion thingy in the airing cupboard this time. We supposedly have a super duper state of the art continuous hot water thing installed by the builders 10 years ago, but every Engineer we have ever had to call out over the years thinks its awful. Needless to say after three hours here they couldnt fix it. It is working intermittently, so I did heat the house quickly before it packed up again . They have gone away to buy a manual as apparently it is a rare system, the next step is to call the insurance company again, but with the roof still with a hole in it and the Insurers dragging their heels over pying out for it, another claim is the last thing I need ! Never rains but it pours !! :rotfl:

Anyway tomorrows another day, DD2 off to watch the Equestrain events in Greenwich with friends. 7am start for her !! That will be a culture shock ! Im not sure what DD1 and I are up to , it will depend how she feels and how much homework is done I think ;):D

  • Oh Pinot, sorry to hear about the car incident :o

I have to admit to being sat here at the moment dressed with my dressing gown on top of my clothes. If we had normal heating, I would have succumbed and flicked it on, with storage heaters we don't have that luxury but I was cursing :D

I would if I was actually using the ipad, but I was on the proper PC last night, so had no excuse other than rushing !!:o I could always tell a small white lie though and just pretend it was the ipad :rotfl:

Hey ITSA, so good to hear from you !

Its probably good that you dont have Normal heating as the temptation is far too great to just stick it on for a few mins, thats if it works though ! :rotfl:

Dressing Gown on top of clothes is a very fetching look, it was the one my DD2 chose to channel yesterday as well ! :rotfl:

  • Yuk, I hate early mornings.

Dragged DD2 out of bed at some god awful hour as she was due to leave for the Paralympics at 7am . She was ready on time, but she now also has the cold that DD1 has, so I have sent her off dosed up to the eyeballs. Not sure when she will return home, so its just DD1 and I today . I will see how she is feeling when she wakes up and decide on the days events then.

In the meantime, I have managed to finally sort out paying the VAT online, and as Grand Benders correctly told me a few days ago, we do get a few days grace , doesnt need to be paid until the 7th Sep rather than yesterday , which is great as I am a few hundred pound short, but are expecting money in early next week which will cover it. :D

I have treated myself to a book, "How to Build a Bu£ine££ from your Ki$chen Table " written by the women who founded the website "No£ on £he Hig£ St$eet" (I hate having to put in disguised words , I am rubbish at it !!) I started reading it in bed last night and am hoping it will be a good buy. Mr Pinot stills plans to sell the pictures he has made online, we have briefly looked at a few different sites on which to advertise. He made a picture for my Niece as a wedding present which they have above their bed and it has received alot of good comments from people asking where it was from. It is something he would love to do, if he could sell a few it would mean he could occasionally turn down the odd Saturday or Sunday job and may be here occasionally. He has the beginnings of four in the garage which were started in May, but as he has barely been here since then, other than the few days we spent in Spain, that is as far as he has got. I thought the book may be interesting though, with a few good ideas for if he finds time to finish them, especially if work is quiet for the end of the month . My house seems to be falling apart around me so the multitude of jobs that need doing are growing by the day , so I am not sure if Mr Pinot should be on house jobs or picture making duty ! I am going to wander from room to room later writing a list of what needs doing as it may help us a bit remember what we need to do !

DD2 slept in her own bed again last night for the first time since the Smoothie Accident. It has taken forever to dry out. I have invested in a waterproof cover, (bit late for that really !) but she says it makes a crunchy noise, I personally didnt think it was too bad and although it didnt cost loads I did read the reviews and it is apparently one of the least noisy on the market ! Her room has been scrubbed and cleared of anything remotely babyish ready for the Big Day at Secondary School next week ! All we need to do now is plaster up the hole cut in the wall months ago when we were on "Bird Rescue" as I still have a squishy foot stool shoved in the hole trying to block it up. Another job for Mr Pinot on his return !

Right well thats enough rambles from me, off to drum up some more work hopefully :D

Have a good day everyone x
