DD2 just text from the Paralympics, she is having an amazing time watching the horses, I forgot to give her a flag to wave though ! Oops !:o

Probably just a well, think how guilty you'd feel if your flag caused the horse to spook :rotfl::rotfl:

  • My Nan used to wear housecoats too, hers was pale blue with checked pockets, but she used to wear it to do the housework in, rather than getting cosy . Infact when I remember her (she passed away when I was 13) she is wearing the Housecoat and sucking a mint imperial which she always had in her handbag ,and was apparently the cure for all ills, be it a cold, sore throat or car sickness !!

My lovely friends , you all sound rather posh with your housecoats, Im afraid to say though that my collection ranges from a very old tatty dressing gown of Mr Pinots which is ginormous on me and if I am really desperate I can occasionally be found squeezing into the girls !

Fallenwiccan I had been wondering where you had gone, how are you ? I have a big collection of blankets, throws all sorts really. DD2 has taken after me and has a pile of different blankets sitting at the end of her bed, they sell some lovely ones in Primarche. She felt poorly yesterday evening and wrapped herself up in her favourite horse blanket at bedtime.

Anyway.....on another subject you will never guess what totally stupid thing I did yesterday ?

I only hit another car :o What on earth is wrong with me ? I appear to be a total liability at the moment. In all the years I have been driving I have never ever hit anyone, bumped the car, dented it....nothing at all, then in the space of three days I do it twice.

This time I was queuing, to take the girls and friends to a concert near us, it was a present for DD2s birthday back in March, so she had been waiting a long time. It wasnt anything bad, I nudged into the back of someone stupidly. My head is all over the place, have a few bits going on at home , family etc and I know I am worrying as I am behind with the Accounts for work and I still need to get some school stuff, so I can confirm I probably wasnt concentrating with a car load of excitable children also. No excuse though really. Her car was fine, my car was fine. Infact it was such a tiny nudge that I wasnt totally sure if I had even hit her and she actually thought she had stalled her car, so we all sat there for a while. The only damage was that I knocked out the light that illuminates the registration number, the drivers mum however ( what is it with me and mums ?!) jumped out and started screaming at me that I had knocked out her daughters brake lights ( she clearly had no clue) and they would have to travel home in the dark without brake lights. After showing her where the brake lights on the car really are and that they were fully intact and in working order, I tried to explain that my front bars on my car had nudged the number plate, literally nudged, like ushed, not hit !! I picked up the light, said I would pay for another for her, it wasnt smashed just fallen out. The mum then proceeded to tell her daughter that her dad needed to look over it as there may be more damage to the car. She was stationary I nudged her at zero miles an hour ! Bl@@dy Woman ! She then began to shout at me that she was going to miss Olly Murs because of me, it was 4pm and Olly came on stage at 8.30pm and we were queuing to get in the car park !! Eventually the daugher told the mum to shut up and get in the car, she apologised to me and said that the light was infact hanging out anyway and had fallen off many times in the past. I gave her my mobile and took hers. I forgot to get her reg number and I dont think they took mine although the mum may have sneakily. Mr Pinot was concerned that the mum may be the type to try and put in some random whip lash claim or get the dad to smash up the car somehow to claim, as it was quite old and quite knocked about anyway. Watch this space !! Mr Pinot is slightly concerned for my sanity and stupidity at the moment, think he is dreading what I will tell him at the moment each time I call him !

How could I have been so stupid ?! :o

Anyway the concert was great except for both of my girls feeling ill with cold. We werent allowed to take food or drink inside, but I had a few supplies and stuffed some goodies inside the older girls wellies and inside pockets as they werent searched ;), only the bags were. As it happened it wasnt too expensive inside ( last year we went to the same place and it was £20 for hot dog and chips ! )
By the time we got home DD1 and 2 were running temperatures and shivering so I will leave them in bed for as long as possible I think today.

We are supposed to be going up to the Olympic Park today to meet up wth Mr Pinot who is working there , so the girls can see him before they go back to school tomorrow and he can wish DD2 luck with her new school , but I am not sure they rae well enough to go. I will see when they wake up ! That reinds me I need to nip out and get a Good Luck card for DD2.

So........................after boring you all with this crazy long post, Im going now !!

Have a good Monday everyone, the sun is shining !! :D

  • Hi Pinot, I'm not too bad, full of busy really. I locked a muscle in my shoulder/neck and have been using the private health insurance from work to get physio. I feel like I'm 25 turning on 60! Football season has started so my one expensive treat has begun of a season ticket for my beloved Newcastle :) I don't go on holiday and I don't go out drinking really so I don't mind throwing some money at the boys who I've supported my whole life.

I need to see how much holiday I've got left to use this year from work as I've had a month off sick from my shoulder so didn't feel like taking any, now I'm suddenly aware that I have three months left and probably far too many days.

Hopefully bumps don't come in threes.
