• Well still not a " thank yous " from EDF but...................dah dah dah I have received a gas bill :j
Never thought I would be happy to receive a bill but after 10 months of emails, phone calls and letters it is a relief to finally get one ( not saying the bill is correct as not checked it yet ). I just want to share my good news with the world :p

Yippee :T

Response received from EDF's Executive Liaison Team:
Please accept my sincere apologies for the obvious annoyance that this matter has caused you. I can assure you that it was never our intention to offend you and I am sorry this hashappened.

Whilst I acknowledge the comments about the cost implications of the promotion, I can assure you that not only is the pin badge a relatively low cost item to produce, being a partner of the London 2012 games we are able to keep our costs extremely low. In addition, the badge was only sent to a random selection of 500,000 of our customers to help them show their support in the run up to the games.

We continue to be committed to providing fair prices to our customers, and this can be seen by our current price position. We are, on average, still the cheapest standard dual fuel supplier in all regions for prepayment and credit customers and in 13 out of 14 regions for Direct Debit. In addition, we have been able to help our customers for the second winter running by keeping our prices lower for longer whilst announcing the lowest price rises of any of the major suppliers.

I appreciate that not all of our customers will want to receive the pin badge and am aware that we will not be able to please everyone. However, I hope you will understand our reasons behind sending the badge. Whilst we have inevitably had some negative feedback, we have also received a number of positive comments.
Well, that's okay then...............
• I too got the pin badge. That is quite a nice bonus in itself, but I seem to be in a minority in looking forward to the games.

However the prize draw is verging on a scam in my opinion. On logging in I "won" an opportunity to pay £30 for a card that gives me money off resturants. I didn't think a "winner" in a prize draw could be charged by the promoter before they get the prize? It seems very much like the "prize draw" promitions coming through the letter box occasionally which go straight in my recycling bin.

Anyone know whether this breaks any laws?

Also currently available from EDF:

http://www.edfenergy.com/products-services/for-your-home/our-services/home-insulation.shtml

This seems to be a more meaningful 'thank you', although strangely (or not) seems to be getting rather less publicity!
• Another month.. another EDF 'thank you'..

This month it seems I've won an error message;

"Ooops. Something's gone wrong

Don't worry, you've still won your prize. We just have to wrestle it back from the technical gremlin that's got it at the moment.
Please make sure you've got your EDF Energy account number to hand, then give the EDF Energy Thank yous team a call on 0800 092 3487†.

They'll sort everything out for you.

†Calls may be monitored and recorded as part of our Customer Care programme.

Just rang the number but of course they probably won't answer for half an hour.. great! :T
• Just held on for 20 minutes to be told by the guy on that phone number they are just the company that enter the winning numbers, details etc for you if you do not have Internet access and they have the same error screen themselves as the system is being updated due to it being a new month.. so he couldn't help and agreed it was ridiculous that their number is displayed on there at this moment in time..

Thanks, EDF... for bloomin' nowt.
