just got an email back from gumtree advising me to report this to the police and gave me some contact details of their police something or other
i reported this when it happened
police contacted ukash
ukash responded where money went to police
various on line gambling sites
bet365 responded so far that a proportion of my money went to bet365 through a specified address in belguim
british police working with police and agencies abroad on this scam
all i know
but i do know that i have asked gumtree what they are doing about this scam that is still going on or tell me who to complain to up the gumtree ladder
one of the loops that the scammers are using is that google do not use an isp in the header to locate the sender of the emails and the chase ends in california
for google to release these details you have to subpoena google in a court in america probably california
it does not cost much so mabey interpol will do that or someone acting in the defence of british citizens scammed by this lowlife gang

so they have a link to belgium in both our cases. I contacted gumtree today about adding a note in all advert responses not to use ukash or western union or similar. I expect sweet FA to happen about it.

I got a paper form UKash about the FSA ombudsman complaint but FSA have not called me. They called you, didn't they?

I want to ensure my complaint against ukash is logged with FSA but apart from a letter I have had nothing else..

just got a call from the FSA.
I had complained ABOUT the fsa having SMART VOUCHER LTD trading as UKASH under their regulation when they are quite simply supporting and encouraging moneylaundering with their stealers keepers loosers weepers business model
ok first of all you cannot complain against the fsa
what you do is you gather all the information and contact the fsa .
the fsa will look at the info and will /can take action if a company under their regulation is bringing them into disrepute.
so i had to withdraw my complaint AGAINST FSA and forward the info as a complaint AGAINST UKASH.
The fsa will not tell us that they are doing xyz about the complaint nor are they allowed to tell me what info they have regarding this scam ((alerted them a second time to this thread) BUT welcome all information and treat that information seriously.
i mentioned that under the freedom of information act i contacted parcelforce to find out when they first became aware of this scam and the magnitude and they said that the magnitude was unimportant but they would welcome all information
regards the financial ombudsman i have a letter by return from them with a complaint number but telling me ukash have 8 weeks to respond and then they take up the complaint
the gentleman from the fsa said contacting the ombudsman was also the correct way to go.
i will now put my complaint and all info to the fsa re ukash and i suggest you all do the same so that this loophole encouraging moneylaundering is finally put to rest

contacted gumtree who removed ad. had already bought the ukash voucher and to get a refund was going to cost 105 of the value so i joined bet365 and lodged it into my account and then withdrew it to my bank account in full, so no interest charged!!!! Won't get caught again I hope will use google and MSE for sure next time!!

Requests to use money transfer services like Western Union, Ukash or MoneyGram.
These services are not meant for transactions between strangers. In our experience, they’re favoured by fraudsters. Fraudsters use different ways to trick people into using these services. One popular trick is to ask you to prove that you have funds by sending money to a friend or relative via these services and show them the receipt. All they need is the tracking number from your receipt and they’ll be able to collect your money. Any requests by strangers to use these services in any way should sound off alarm bells and shouldn’t be followed.

I almost got burned with the roland td 9 drumset on Gumtree, 'She' calls herself Lisa Auston, has a google + account with picutes with the family , kids, ect. Started out saying cash only, collection only. was sooooo disappointed

This time under the name of Lisa Austin, lisa75austin@gmail.com googleplus account: 118231580158955372098. Gumtree ad ref is: Ad ref 1002165365. I'll report to gumtree, what have people found is the best way to report it to the police?
