Hello all.
Have been working 6 day weeks for the last 4 weeks but had this weekend to myself.
However we have just had the most non MSE fish and chips ever. A 46 mile round trip up the coast to a small coastal town with a fantastic couple of chippies by the harbour. Nothing beats really fresh fish, apart from the deep fried haggis I had.
There was a bonus as well, since I was last their an ice cream parlour/coffee shop has opened and they served us 5 minutes after closing :T - take out only though.
Tomorrow we shall probably go to a local National Trust property with the dog.
What non MSE things will you be doing this weekend?
Sounds like you deserved the nonMSE since you were working so hard, and the fish sounds fab - yum!
non MSE things this weekend.... bought DD 4 pairs of shoes!Went to Cl@rks to get her measured and she was a whole size bigger - felt like such a bad mum! Cl@rks luckily had a sale on but the prices are still a bit ! Pair of trainers and ballet shoes from Cl@rks £45 and that was the sale!! Then went to Diekmans (sorry for spelling) and got a pair of boots and everyday shoes for £20!!

Mort - We went for a 2 hour walk in a forest... and had McD's for lunch on the way
But in our defence we just found someone who will give us the money we need for a Mortgage... so now we can start house-hunting
Li - I've had to stop buying at Clarks... I just cannot justify £42 for school shoes! I paid £20 for his last pair... granted we ruined them, but he outgrew them at the same time!
I just bought his last pair at MrT for £10... but I am dubious about how long they will last... but it's only until the end of the school year...We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I must be a shoe snob. Cl@rkes still gets my vote, and occasional cash, for kiddie shoes

This thread is empty! Where is everyone???
I rehomed my Rabbits at the weekend saving me some money (£30 a month) and as they are now offered the freedom of a garden I think they are much happier too.
My finances are being ignored at the moment... I never seem to have time to do very much with them... but they are running ok.
Yesterday I bought DS a 'as new' DS as his old one broke after 5 years... I paid £40 for it and it was in perfect condition
Today I am going to a friends for lunch, and spending the afternoon with her and Eliza in the sun (well slightly covered or Eliza and I will burn
I need a break, since DH started his new job I haven't stopped. I start at 5am and finish at 9-10pm! I don't watch TV or relax or find time to talk to you lovely people! And yet my house is a mess, not quiet sure what happens to the time everyday...
So this afternoon I am having a break
Right, i'm off to check Estate Agents websites to see if there is anything new today...

I'm here! Reading but not really up to much as struggling along to payday - seem to have run out of money rather early this month!
Good thing tho' is that the "old me" would've just raided a load of money from one of my pots......
2 days to go! Phew!!!!
Finish for Easter next Tuesday (for a week) so really looking forward to that and keeping everything crossed the weather holds!

Rising well done on not raiding pots
Yesterday I was called a lady of leisure... from someone who spends 3 hours a night watching tv and drinking wine! I wish!
Actually, I don't wish, sounds boringWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Hi guys - how are we all doing?
Well JG - I dont believe that anyone who has 2 kids at home is a lady of leisure! Particularly when you do what you do! Living on a budget, staying debt free and doing the best by your kids! I dont know how you manage to fit it all in! And also 5am starts is not easy!
It sounds like everyone has been making the most of this lovely weather we have been having! It seems to make so much difference to everyone's mood!
I feel so much happier now that the sun is out to spur us on! I dont see much of it during the week tho! The long hours and although we have lots of windows in the office - the sun seems to forget to beam through our windows! lol
Well I have been a very good gal and have been ebaying my tat!
I have done quite well this month, with £130 being passed my way! I also have more room in my wardrobe and seeing as it is stuff that either doesnt fit (6 stone weight loss) or I dont like, then I may as well let someone else enjoy them!
Well I hope that everyone is all ok and enjoying the sunshine!
On a different note - has anyone else noticed that Lidl seem to be turning Tesco? Prices increases, special offers that arent actually special offers and low stock levels?0 -

Wow! Fantasticboth to the sales & the weight loss!

Funnily enough .... I was in there last week (don't go too often as quite far away but was coming back from Edinburgh so thought I'd stop) and I thought it wasn't as cheap as it used to be for some things!
JG .... sounds heavenly!:T
Anyway ..... been thinking (I know, bad for me!) and have decided to turn the "getting in advance Fuel pot" into a one for my car insurance .... still on monthly D/debits for this and would love to be able to pay in one go at renewal. It's not until Dec so if I keep putting £20 / month away, I should just about be there by then:)
The "getting in advance Groceries pot" has now had Fuel added to it(don't want any more pots atm as I feel I'm getting a bit carried away with the number of them:o) and it will take me ages to get in advance but .... *sigh* ..... will keep ploughing away with them.
Saw on the news we're to top up our tanks if we've the opportunity in case there is a strike .... fine for people who live near a fuel station, but at an 18 mile round trip it's not really feasible for me (or I suspect a lot of others) - other worrying thing about that is that even if I do, my tank only takes 35 litres:eek: & only lasts a week .....
Beautiful & sunny(not quite as warm as yesterday) - just in (finish early on Weds) so stuck a load of washing in & will be heading off to the beach once it's finished & hung outside.:)

Ohhhh is anyone with Bar*clays?
Just logged in to change my pots / transfer money I owed myself from the cats pot and ... it's all changed:(
I knew they were upgrading but hadn't realised it was going to be quite as drastic ... I know we're all reluctant to accept change but .... it's hideous!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Rising I just want to second your comment!
Our business account in work is with Barcs and the change was a bit drastic! It took me ages to even work out how to click onto the link to go into the right account, let alone to try and pay someone! My boss had a look too - and then asked me to show him how to get into the account! He's not very computer friendly at the best of times, let alone when they throw a spanner in the works!
It is dreadful - I am not very good when it comes to change... but this really was overkill! lol
Luckily I am with Hsbcccc - and thankfully their online banking is nice and simple to use!0
