I'm going to give up on my £1 from these lot, only because I found a £1 in the locker I was using at the leisure centre today (previous person must have forgot they had inserted a pound).

It's not worth paying £25 taking them to court as why pay out £25 (even though I will probably get it back) for £1?
I wouldn't bother either for that amount!

yay :j my cheque finally cleared, right as they finally replied to my e-mails stating that they only received one order (even though they were both in the same box clearly bundled into separate orders). They also said they received a DVD which wasn't in the box and that one DVD was unacceptable (even though it was brand new). Conclusion, don't trust them and take them to court, probably the only way you'll get your money.

Yes I had the same experience. Two emails stating that some DVDs were scratched and that they hadn't received the most expensive ones - next day, a cheque arrives for the full amount + court costs! Bit dodgy.

In a warped way glad to hear I am not alone.

Posted items to them 3 Jan 2012.

After prompting updated website to say items received and being tested.

Since then placatory emails and nothing else.

I will certainly go down the small claims route

    Thanks
  • I've had the same experience as a lot of you - sent my 3 parcels to them late December/ early January, waited and waited, got no relevant responses to emails, eventually opened a small claims case against them on 5th April and hey presto i got my testing report and payment approved emails through today:j
Now onto my next problem! I should be getting around £200 from these idiots BUT they claim 24 (!!!) of my perfectly sound discs are '
    scratched and cannot be repaired'!!!
Is there anything else i can do? To be honest I don't know if I have the energy at 4 months pregnant!!!

I'm so glad this forum is here - it has given me hope that i may eventually get my money!

I'm sure you will get the full amount + court costs. I got same emails - "scratched and cannot be repaired" and "awaiting receipt" etc on more than one, but got a cheque next day for the full amount. If you have received those emails today you will probably get a cheque for the £200 + £25 tomorrow. Let us know!
  • hello,

i've posted one of these small claims things before - it was a few years ago now but I heard literally nothing back following it - just as an update, are people now finding these things are more successful? many people ended up getting money back?

    thanks!!

  • I got my cheque for the full amount today! :j I'm so relieved! Anyone unsure about going down the small claims route, don't be!! You'll get your money back and it definitely speeds up the process. I'm just praying the cheque clears!
Does anyone know if i have to do anything more as regards the small claims business - do i let them know that they've paid up?
Thanks so much for your help on this thread - i wouldn't have had a clue about small claims if it wasn't for you guys! :T

I faxed the court today to let them know that I had received my cheque for the full amount - I don't think you have to though unless you've asked the court for a judgement but I did anyway just in case. Maybe someone else on here will know for sure.

P.S my cheque cleared no problem and I've not heard anyone else saying that they've had a problem once they've actually received their cheque either.
  • Has anyone I wonder considered the following idea? You look through your DVD collection for some 'fishy' based movies - Jaws, Moby !!!!!! etc and get the price offers from these shamsters. You then fill a box with slightly opened tins of pilchers, seal it tight, add a dummy address, take it to the post office and off it goes free of charge. If some of these packages are being left for 3 months before opening - I mean, can you imagine when they get to pull off the sellotape from that one?
