  • they sent me the full amount, despite not mentioning it in the automated email :)

I've just had an email only stating the amount owed prior to them being issued by the small claims court on my behalf.
I suspect they'll try and get away without paying it given the way they've acted thus far.
I'm going to email them reminding them of £25 they owe me for the small claims and make it clear that I won't be cashing the cheque without it and will take it even further if possible.

Yes me too - they were served on the 7th and their e-mail came through today on the 10th. They are claiming they haven't received some of the more expensive ones too even though I know for a fact I packed everything. I'll wait to see what comes through the post - there's no guarantee we'll get the cheques any time soon is there and anyway, if we e-mail we'll probably only get another automated reply. I hate this company.

They owe me £172.85 and they've decided they're going to pay me £157 - they say they are awaiting receipt on 3 items - oddly enough the most expensive ones and that 5 others were scratched (they weren't). They haven't mentioned the court costs in my email either but if I get that I think I'll just take it and cut my losses as I've had enough of these scammers and don't want to waste any more time on them.
  • DO NOT use TURN IT INTO CASH, i have been waiting 3 months for payment luckily i split my items between music magpie (who paid quickly) I have only received automated emails to my querie from turn it into cash which they say they are struggling with the rush over the last 2 months!!! they should return all items if they cant manage to check items and pay for them. It is daylight robbery!!!!:mad::mad:
  • Hi everyone - just to let you know that after filing MCOL on 28 March, I have received the full amount + court costs today from TIC (even though the e-mails I received from them yesterday said otherwise). I'll wait until the cheque clears before informing the court just to be on the safe side - I've got until the 21st to let them know. I'd like to thank everyone on here for their advice - I'm so glad I joined this forum.

Got my cheque for the full amount today too (including the £25 small claims fee). To be honest, I could hardly believe it after all this time. Going to bank it tomorrow and will let you know if it actually clears.
Good luck to anyone still trying and if you haven't already, file a small claim. It look like it's the only way you're gonna get anything out of them!

I paid mine in today - I'd been out all day and when I came back home the cheque (no letter of apology or anything - not even a compliment slip!) was waiting for me and I thought it worth the 20 minute drive to the nearest bank to pay it in straight away just in case! I agree, the only way to make them pay - and I mean the full, agreed amount, without trying to imply some disks are "scratched" to get out of paying you what they owe - is to file. It's very easy to do and you know they haven't got a leg to stand on because they are in possession of your goods. I'm so glad I followed other people's advice on here. Thanks, guys.
  • I paid in my cheque on 3rd April (last Tuesday) and it hasn't cleared yet. Has anyone cashed a cheque recently?

It will probably be OK - the bank holidays will have delayed it clearing a bit I'm sure.

I'm going to give up on my £1 from these lot, only because I found a £1 in the locker I was using at the leisure centre today (previous person must have forgot they had inserted a pound).

It's not worth paying £25 taking them to court as why pay out £25 (even though I will probably get it back) for £1?
