Sent 3 boxes containing 2 orders at the beginning of January but no cheque received so I submitted a claim through the Small Claims court on Friday 23rd March. I received a cheque in the post today - 7 working days later - for £316 which is the full amount plus my £25 fee. Since sending the claim I received a couple of emails confirming testing and advising some items were scratched but when the cheque came it was the full amount. Only resorted to the claim because I was so worried they would go under and I'd get nothing for my lifetime's worth of my CD and DVD collecting! Would definitely recommend everyone else does the same, and they may then realise they need to at least put a message on their website advising of backlogs.0

I completed the MCOL online, if that's what you mean (?).0 -
Glad you got your cash in the end. Hopefully the outcome will be the same for me - filed my claim on Saturday as a last resort so here's hoping!Hayley_Austin wrote: »Sent 3 boxes containing 2 orders at the beginning of January but no cheque received so I submitted a claim through the Small Claims court on Friday 23rd March. Yep, filled a claim on 20/03/12 and received the full amount with court fees yesterday. :j'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0

I think they must be panicking with all these claims and just paying them straight away! Suits me - I filed last Saturday so I hope my result is the same as yours. BTW, since I filed, my status on the website has been showing 'received and testing" rather than "awaiting receipt". They collected my stuff on 07 February.purpledonkey wrote: »Yep, filled a claim on 20/03/12 and received the full amount with court fees yesterday. :j0 -

Interesting read of this thread. If you are claiming via small claims court, don't forget to include reasonable costs for chasing for payment. For example phone call costs, postage, time spent writing emails etc.
I would expect settlement of approx £140 or so if I had put in an order of around £100.
Settling out of court means nothing to a lot of companies, rejecting settlement and going to court has a bigger impact sometimes as it can affect credit ratings etc. Depends if you only interested in getting your money back or would like to help stop bad trading.
I noticed in linkedin that the company is venture capital backed,
it would be useful to find out who they are and make contact to make sure they know whats going on, which may in turn put more pressure on the management of this company

I've just claimed the full amount of the trade and court costs. I only sent two emails so haven't incurred any additional costs really, but the frustration reading other people's dealings with this company and just waiting for my cash has been HUGE!! I just hope I get what was agreed and I wish I hadn't been left with any other option that to file a claim against them but I felt I had waited long enough. I've still got loads of DVDs/CDs to trade so I think I'll try Music Magpie when this has (hopefully) been resolved as they've got quite a good reputation.Interesting read of this thread.
