  • We would like to apologise to customers for the delays in processing their orders and payments we are working through them as quickly as possible and in the order which they were received.
    TurnIntoCash.com has noted some of the comments that have been posted online in the MSE forums which are clearly untrue and therefore need responding to as follows:

    Customers are not getting paid
    This is not true. We have already paid out thousands of pounds to customers and will continue to do so. Unfortunately after Christmas we received over 20 times the amount of trades we had forecast which has meant we have had to develop and adapt our systems to cope with the volume we received very quickly which has not been as quick as we would like. In addition we stopped advertising the website and significantly reduced the amounts we are able to pay for items

    We are not answering our phones.
    That is correct. A small minority of callers have chosen to threaten our customer services team which has been upsetting for them and we have therefore at the moment decided to only respond to customer services enquiries via email. We will reinstate the phone lines as soon as is practical.

    We are not answering emails.
    This is incorrect and we are answering as many emails as possible with as much information as we have. As we are trying to deal with as many questions as possible we are therefore not able to answer multiple emails from the same customer once we have given them a response.

    The website was hacked
    This is true and we dealt with the issue as quickly as we could but it has meant that we have had to closely monitor what arrives and is processed which has slowed down our processing of orders.
    This investigation now involves two police forces. We are unable to give any additional information as it may jeopardise a criminal prosecution in the future but rest assured when we are able to provide more information on the culprits we will do so.

    Once again we are very sorry for the delays in processing customer orders and payments. We will do so as quickly as possible and would like to thank our customers for being patient with us. If you have a specific enquiry about your order please email us once on support@turnintocash.com and we will respond.

    i have sent you 5 emails last one about legal action which all 5 have been ignored so do you want to stop talking rubbish and admit you are a scam company and wont be paying any one.you have had my stuff for nearly 7 weeks and i have heard nothing from you!!!!!!!:mad:
  • On advice from Consumer Direct (Trading Standards), sent a letter by recorded delivery stating that they were in breach of contact and had 10 days to respond by sending the cheque for the amount owed.

    Letter was received and signed for, so I know they got it, but no payment yet.

    So, they took my stuff on 29th October 2011 - roughly 18 weeks ago! - they lied to me about sending out 2 cheques then completely ignored all contact from me since.
    So now my only recourse to get my money (presume my actual goods are now long gone) is small claims court, !!!!!!.

    DO NOT SEND THEM ANYTHING.
  • All these posts make me as mad as hell but equally reassure me that I'm not alone. My box was collected on the 6th January and has been getting "tested" for about the last 5 weeks! I cannot believe they can get away with this. I sent them an email asking them to either send my cheque or my goods back several times but they haven't even had the decency to respond. Would we be allowed to take goods from a shop and say to the owner "I'll come back and pay for this in a couple of months time"? Hell No!!!!!

    Would love to see these crooks on Watchdog.:mad:

  • I've just reported it to Action Fraud. The number again is: 0300 123 2040
  • I too have just reported to Action Fraud but on line. My statement to them is as follows;

    "Website asked for old unwanted CD's DVD's offering best prices paid. I sent my goods to them on 20/12/11 and received email telling that my goods had been received on 12/01/12. Another set of emails came to confirm that my goods had been checked and that a cheque would be posted out for around £70 soon. My goods were initially valued at £90 and they only sent me £8.70 which I received at the end of January 2012. Since then, they will not answer any emails or return calls (do not answer the phone) and have offered no explanation as to why they only sent such a small monetary amount for 50 items!!

    Some of my items that they said had failed their checking process were brand new and had never been opened - strangely, these were the highest value items that I sent!"

    We shall see.....
  • Persuaded by an email received from MSE, I decided to send them 10 unwanted games/dvds on 16th January 2012. I posted them off to Turnintocash.com and as at 29th Feb my order still shows on their website as "Awaiting Receipt". They tell you it can take 3 weeks from the date you post it to arrive with them (I didn't realise the postal service had got so bad).

    The customer service is non-existent only auto replies to emails and no luck with phoning them. Having read others' comments I really don't expect to get the measly amount of money they promised.

    I wouldn't touch this company again with a bargepole and I think MSE should not be promoting this company until;

    a) they "catch up with the unexpected backlog" after Christmas, and
    b) we see some positive feedback that suggests they actually pay up the amount of money promised and on time
  • I too have sent my cds and dvds toTurn into cash following it appearing on MSE website. These parcels went mid to late december and one parcel is saying that is being checked (but has been like that for weeks). The other order, a much larger one is stating that they are in receipt, but that the contents are awaiting receipt. This parcel was couriered to them, and no surprise they were contacting me to arrange collection. I have emailed them three times, and they have replied once, stating that they had a back log. The other emails they have chosen to ignore.
    Having read that others are in the same position doesn't surprise me, and just hope that we all get our money.

    I would however report that Music Magpie have been prompt and efficient when dealing with parcels that I have sent to them.
