  • I van see from a few responses here that some of you have managed to actually talk to a member of staff from the company. Where can I can I find their telephone number?! It's not on the website and directory enquiries can't help.

I think i might just 'pop round'...

I just called to find out if my parcel had arrived and was told due to been overrun with people coming from this website there systems were down and they would call me back. The order I sent over was over £100 and I'm starting to feel that I might just have to get trading standard involved. This is really not on, how there keeping peoples items and not paying out a penny for them. I will keep you updated but I would not use their website until people confirm they getting paid.

How did you obtain the telephone number? I've spent the last couple of hours searching online and calling directory enquiries with their address but to no avail.

Do not send your stuff to this site
  • Well, what do you know? A cheque for the full amount arrived in the post today. So that's taken two months, more or less.

The biggest issue for me was the length of time taken (about a month) before they had acknowledged that they had received my parcel. The other things I can put up with. And of course, there was the famous hacking incident, when all our details were posted for all to see. Thank God this is done by cheque and not a credit to our current accounts.

    Once bitten, twice shy, methinks.
  • Like others, I've still not received Confirmation that they've received my parcel. I've also tried contracting them via email, but I've received no response. I've spoken to Royal Mall about claiming compensation and I've been told that as it was using a 'returns service' the recipient has to claim.

I'm now seriously considering legal proceedings, as I've had it with this company

robot1000, when did you post your parcel?

  • I completely regret not reading this before I sent £60 of stuff off to them. Like many of you it seems I saw it was recommended on MSE so thought I would give it a bash. A courier (who was really rude may I mention) collected my stuff 4 weeks ago and I have heard nothing since - despite the numerous e-mails I have sent. Glad you mentioned the hacking scandal too as someone has changed my password on TIC (I used different e-mail addresses for different orders) on one of my accounts and an error message keeps coming up everytime I try to reset it. I would love their phone number if anyone has it :wall:
'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'
  • I'm another one who used this service after it was recommended on here. I sent a box worth over £40 by courrier, I sent them on 27th Jan & at the moment they are still "awaiting receipt". I did e-mail the company & got this response:

    Hi Laura
Sorry yes we have received them. But as yet it hasn't been opened and checked on to the system, which is why the status in your account hasn't changed as yet. We have received an extremely high number of parcels in the last couple of weeks; please bear with us as things may take a little while longer than they usually would due to this. Once your parcel has been checked on to the system you will start to receive automated emails from the website to show you what stage it is up to.

    Many Thanks

    TurnIntoCash.com

I'm assuming I will be looking at late Feb before my items are tested and hopefully get paid sometimes in March. Its rather poor service, I don't think I will be using them again in a hurry!!

Looking on their website I did find this in terms and conditions

    Quality Checks

TurnIntoCash.com will not make payment for items where:

    • Original disks are missing

    • Artwork is damaged

    • Artwork is missing

    • We suspect the item is a copy or fake

    • The disk in the case does not match the cover

    • The disk is badly scratched and cannot be repaired

    • CDs singles, EPs, Playstation 1, PC Games, Gameboy/Gameboy Advance games and Dreamcast Games will automatically be rejected even if the TurnIntoCash.com system has offered a valuation

I can understand them not paying out for missing discs or anything damaged to the point of being irrepairable, but automatically rejecting games that the system gives a price for isn't on IMO.
I hope they pay in full for mine, but I won't get my hopes up, it sounds like they are rejecting a lot, a few of our CD's had cracked boxes, I didnt expect this to be a problem as cases can be replaced but it sounds like they use this as an excuse to pay out less :(

    A couple of questions:

When did you send the email to them?
Which email did you email your query to?
How long did it take them to respond?

    Thanks

It does state on the terms:
Please note we aim to despatch customer payment within seven days of receipt but occasionally due to high volumes may not be able to do so but we will keep you informed via the website.

There is no mention about delays anywhere on the website
