  • Following my recent post I have recieved an email from them claiming that they have looked at the contents of one of my boxes and I am a commercial user. Here is a copy of the email:

    Dear Sarah

Following a review of the content of one of your boxes we have determined that the contents constitute a commercial trade and we are therefore unable to take them as they breach our website terms and conditions.

TurnIntoCash.com has been designed for the use of consumers only. Commercial users may be allowed on the site following written permission from a manager here at TurnIntoCash.com which has not been given to you.

The following clause has been applied to your transactions:

    Commercial Users
TurnIntoCash.com monitors all transactions on the website and where we suspect the website is being used for commercial purposes reserve the right to cancel any trades or refuse payment. In the unlikely event this occurs items will only be returned on payment of postage and administration costs.

TurnIntoCash.com defines commercial use of the website as any organisation, business or individual who is buying items specifically to trade on the website or disposing of items they have bought in bulk with the aim of selling them for a profit. In the event of any dispute TurnIntoCash.com reserve the right to reject any trade that it believes is from a commercial user but will return all items traded on receipt of payment to cover the cost of items sent in to us and return costs.

Commercial use of the website may include multiple individual trades of the same items or attempting to trade more than three of the same title in more than one trade.

Commercial users or charities should contact TurnIntoCash.com for permission to use the website

If you would like your items back you may arrange a courier to collect them from us once we have received payment from you of £8 per box to cover our inbound courier charges – please can you contact customer services to arrange a suitable collection time.

If we do not hear from you within 30 days or you do not arrange collection your items will be recycled – some may be resold to enable us to recover our courier and processing costs and no payment will be made to you.

    Many Thanks

    TurnIntoCash.com

I then sent them this response:

Hello, can you please tell me which box this is as I havesent a few to you but they are allstill showing as a awaiting reciept on your website. I am also not a commercial user, I bought these cds on ebay a few months ago believing I was not being sent any duplicate cds however when the cds arrived I discovered many were the same, I tried to return them but the seller would not accept them back, I have tried to sell them individually with no success which is why I have sent them to you. I hope you understand my situation and realise that I am not a commercial user. Please can you respons as quickly as posssible. Thank You. Sarah Whiteley

As I stated in the email I am not a commercial user I was mislead on ebay and now have about 300 cds that i needed to get rid of, I have sent them 8 boxes in total each one worth around £12 so I am really hoping they dont say the same thing about every box! Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've had an email saying they have "received" my parcel, bang on a month since I sent it.

They must have a massive backlog of parcels which people have sent in prior to Christmas to try and raise some money, a shame they didn't send anything out in the way of an email to people whom have outstanding orders "sorry, we have had higher than expected demand and so processing is a bit delayed".

I will be happy to get my cheque and won't use them again, even if Magpie gives less at least it's a fast turnaround
  • changed to testing and accepted around a fortnight back now but still no cheque ? not sure whats next really, Im assuming just wait a bit longer.
this is week 7 now :(
  • Just registered on MSE to leave my feedback - my advice is DO NOT USE TURNINTOCASH.COM!!

11 weeks now (over 2 and a half months!) since the courier collected my package worth over £115 and still waiting for the cheque!

    Timeline:
    * Sent them a package worth £115 which the courier collected on 29th October 2011
    * Sent 2 emails to them before they admitted (on the 8th December) that yes, they had actually received my package.
    * Testing report email received 18th November - they say they're going to give me £110.96 (which is fine, not too fussed about the missing fiver).
    * Payment approved email received 22nd November.
    * Waited over a week and heard nothing - so after 3 more emails they finally replied to me about my payment cheque on the 12th December (telling me that my emails had ended up in the spam folder, which is either an outright lie or sheer incompetence for them to not whitelist the email addresses of their customers). "Pam" said a cheque had been issued on the 1st December, but that she would cancel that one and hand-write a new cheque (even giving me a cheque number - probably another lie).
(At this point I double-checked that the address they have for me in my account is correct - it was (obviously, given that the courier had collected my pacakge from the address))
    * Emailed them again on the 30th December because still no cheque (though they claim to have sent 2) - gave them 10 days to get a cheque to me else I'd go to trading standards or the small claims court.
    * 14th Jan, still no reply from them so I'm going to start looking a logging complaint with trading standards or whoever I can get to look into this.

As such - what are my options here? Does anyone know my rights in this kind of exchange? I'm not sure what rights I should be looking at because I didn't buy anything from them, effectively they've bought something from me but haven't paid up...
Do I got to trading standards or the citizen advice bureau first? Or should I start looking into how to start an action in the small claims court?

Thanks for any advice anyone can give me! :-)

And again - DO NOT USE TURNINTOCASH.COM!

My theory is that they're taking as much stock as they possibly can, paying off a few people so that they seem vaguely legitimate, but doing their best to sell the stock they take in before paying the punters.
Over 2 and a half months and counting and they haven't paid me, I've had to chase them up at every step of the way, many of my emails are ignored and they keep telling me blatant lies.

    AVOID! ;-)

You can contact Consumer Direct (who act as Trading Standards for many areas, including Manchester where this company are based) here .

You haven't paid them money, but they have entered into a contract with you, you have fufilled your part by sending your goods, and they have failed their part which is to pay you for them.

I had to contact them with regards to this company and they were great (I got my cheque in the meantime).

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Another email received last night stating that they should be issuing my cheque "within the next couple of days". Double checked my address details again (just as I did with the last email they sent) but guess I shouldn't hold my breath about receiving it very quickly.
Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!! :D

I heard that they rejected paying out for a CD valued at £3 (so probably would have been worth a lot more) because "the case was cracked". What type of excuse is that, plastic jewel cases are fragile.

Stratocaster1, you make these claims, but what's your experience? From the posts above, some people at least are getting paid.

Not that my experience has been great, what with the hacking of the site, but I can now report that, after me emailing them on Friday 13th asking what was happening, they've now emailed me to say that me parcel "arrived at the TurnIntoCash.com warehouse today and has now been passed for testing", and that testing should take a couple of days. We live in hope.
