I sent my DVDs back on 14th November via their free courier! It took till 2nd dec for them to confirm they received them, testing report was done on 6th dec and I am still waiting for a confirmation that my chq is on it's way!
I think it takes far too long for the process and won't be using again!

  • Sent 1 box via courier on the 24th Nov worth £188, Phoned early last week to confirm my box was received on the 28th. Still showing as awaiting receipt on my account. !!!!!!!

15 days later and they still haven't processed my order. Shocking!

Unemployed at the moment and this was my Xmas spending money, Thought by sending them on the 24th November would give them plenty of time to get the Cheque to me.

    Gutted :(
  • Same Here Dickie
I sent mine off on the 3rd Dec and thought that I could escape Wongas clutches at last - only needed £100 or so to get by and the website offered me £130 for my DVDs,Ps2,Xbox 360,PS3 etc games which would have seen me out.

I resigned myself to one final Wonga loan instead as by the look of things according to the rest of you guys, It will be halfway to Feb before I see a penny.
Ah well, Ill put it off my next phone bill :(

If I had known this beforehand I would have just taken the boxes up to Cex in Wrexham and done it all over the counter.
  • I've just had an email back from them stating that I'll receive £13.70, from a box I sent on 20th November which was worth £33.63:

"Unfortunately the following items failed to pass our quality control checks and the reason is outlined below"

Item 1 XX - Reason: not accepted ... etc". All 6 games given the same "reason".

What kind of reason is "not accepted"?

Also there's then the "We are unable to return any rejected items as per our standard terms and conditions but they will be recycled responsibly", so they now have 6 games worth over £20 that they are going to keep!

Does anyone have any advice on anything I can do about this or is it a case of once bitten?

Steer clear of them is my advice. I'll never use again or recommend them to anyone ever.
  • I would recommend you steer clear of turnintocash.

I have had very bad experience with them, as by all accounts 3/4 of what you send to them will not be accepted although their site will say it is and quotes you a price for it.

They will dispose all of the CD's that they valued for you but are now not accepted along with any they deemed to be scratched, which is thoughtful.

Trust that the customer puts into Turnintocash is misplaced as far as my experience with them, and I feel like I have been scammed.

Cut out the middle man and just bin your CD's, same result but at least you wont feel robbed after using Turnintocash.
  • Just as a follow on from my last message, I've just had some feedback on why my items were not accepted:
Sorry we do not accept Gameboy games or Dreamcast games

Yet the reason I sent them in was because when I entered the barcode on the site, an offer price was given.
  • Still 'awaiting receipt' from 3rd Dec

I hope they don't 'reject' all my mint quality rare PS2 titles and 'accept' all the ones worth 50p. Most of them have been out of the box once hence why I sold them. 25% of the DVDs were still in the shrink wrap.

    :(

I really should have gone to Cex or maybe games exchange even.

    MSE advice ftw!! - NOT!

I found them slower than Magpie.

Did my first order on the 27th November (so posted 28th Nov) (just over £10 in old cds & dvds), took to the 15th to get the "received" email, got marked down as one of the cds was "scratched" (the £3 one), but the cheque finally arrived Saturday, so nearly a month from sending to getting cheque.

Although I might have been foolish and sent another box on the 12th Dec which hasn't arrived yet, but as it took nearly 3 weeks for the 1st order to "arrive" I'm still hopeful. As for using them again, I will wait to see what happens with this 2nd box, but I'm doubtful, back to Magpie, they might pay less but at least the cheque arrives within 3 weeks (normally).

Sent them a parcel back at the start of December, same time I sent one to musicmagpie. Musicmagpie have checked, cleared and posted my cheque, whilst turnintocash.com still haven't "received" my parcel, nor have they responded to my emails. Extremely disappointed.
Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!! :D
