After getting the "your item has been received" email 2 weeks ago, after waiting pretty much a month, I've heard nothing since.

Will I get my £10 by the end of the century I wonder.
  • I am just cleaning out dvds and have been checking prices from MusicMagpie and Turnintocash.

As you already know if you're reading this thread, Turnintocash generally offer much better prices so I have been submitting my dvds to turnintocash - the point of this post is having done a list I went into my account and found that my earlier trial runs were still listed there.

I opened my original "trade" and it is numbered 9472 - todays trade is no: 29539 !! At a minimum of 10 items per trade that 295,539 items they have to check -and I'm guessing most people are sending a lot more than 10 at a time so let's call it half a million items to deal with. No wonder they're slow processing everyone's submissions.

Having said that - I don't know where they are going to get the cash to pay everyone anyway; they would have to be selling at the same rate as they are buying and that's not very likely.

Looks like I'll be selling my stuff to Magpie!

What they could have easily done is sent an email out or made it aware that the turnover is slow due to high usage of the site.

I had my "testing report" this morning, no rejects :)

Coincidental, but I got my testing report today as well, also no rejects.
  • I got my cheque yesterday....two months after the trade started.

Much prefer Music Magpie and with cashback I would have been no worse off.

I'm tempted to dig out some CDs which Magpie won't take as they are too worthless and see what TIC comes back with. What is the most I would lose as they would only be going into the bag for the charity shop anyhow?

It was in November I was told they were very busy and recruting extra staff to cope with demand, yet months later they are still slow.

If they haven't found the right people to hire then why not get temps in until they do.

I suspect in another 6 months they'll be churning out the same excuses as we are getting now.

I also suspect they have a cash-flow problem, taking in around half a million items, they can make some money of some of the items, but that can take time in some cases.

Edit - 4th Feb - My cheque finally arrived!
  • Well, I'm now at the point where I have a complaint filed with Consumer Direct / Office of Fair Trading and will be sending a formal, written complaint to TurnIntoCash demanding either my money or return of my goods because they're in breach of Supply of Goods & Services Act 1982.

So, still not paid after their courier picked up the package on 29th October 2011! That's 14 weeks so far and counting :-(

I sent £50 worth of CDs to turnintocash.com at the start of January (using their own shipping label) but have heard nothing from them since. I've sent them 2 emails but haven't even had an acknowledgement of my emails. Their website is still up but I'm wondering if they are still actually operating?
Maybe a word of warning in case anyone else is thinking of sending them CDs....
