I think they read the feedback, fnc63, at least Webby does and responds at some point or even if there's no response, it would only mean that is has been resolved. The issue for them as I remember from some posts is to do with prioritising technical and other site issues so it could be a matter of waiting. But I agree that if feedback is addressed or acknowledged, the site would improve vastly and even be one step ahead of rival sites because people would offer some useful feedback and even ideas. I've hardly seen it here unless the team invites suggestions & opinions.0

Seems like the change has been backed out today?0 -
I don't know the tehcnical aspects at all, so please forgive me for the collosal blunders in my posts. I have to say something, nonethless, as a matter of compulsion
I'm trying to work out what would be feasible to impliment, I'm imagining if the outline to quotes aren't grey and instead white, it must automatically be white even in the celeste green OP posts. So outlining quotes should work. If coloring the panel of the OP works, then inverting color too should work I suppose. Sometimes we have to undo things instead of doing something for a desired result. So leaving OP white should work and the default of the quote has a color anyway. The only thing I cannot work out is how to make the quotes on op's subsequent posts, white. But then some softwares are designed to do clever things.

Hi Folks
We've removed the highlight for now whilst we rework it.
@fnc63 Apologies you received no reply - we don't reply to everything, and in the case of your thread, we tend to leave them for a while to see if other people comment. That's often a good indicator to us as to whether it's something the forum as a whole wants or agrees with. At present, it doesn't seem like a problem the forum agrees with en masse, so we don't see the need to change it or put it high on our action list.
That certainly isn't to say that it's something we wouldn't look at if we receive a lot of feedback on it, but we have limited resources and part of my job is to focus the development team in areas where changes we make benefit the most people possible (if that makes sense).
As an aside, one thing I've been considering is a kind of focused "MSE Labs" board where we can post changes in development that people can test and feedback on, but which wouldn't affect the rest of the forum until we were happy that we had the best outcome possible. Is that something that people would like to see? A lot of what we do is driven by our user comments and it's my belief we could use a better environment for these sort of changes, focused a lot more on evolutionary development as opposed to making it live and then having to make changes after reaction / reception.
Will probably be more of the smaller, but significant things at first (things like this thread, the competitions entered button, etc) and there's no guarantee we will be able to action everything. Obviously we could then have more dedicated suggestion threads also.
Thoughts?

I agree that putting a change into a test environment before letting it go live would be a sensible approach.
What's your thinking on the rework, or are you not ready to tell us, yet?0 -
I agree with test labs.
It saves a change being implemented, everyone wondering what has happened, and not knowing where they can feedback about it.
I would be happy to help test things in a lab and give feeback.0 -

Common consensus in the office based on the feedback is that affecting the frame or header in some way is probably the best balance of highlighting without being too intrusive.
Infact, when you post a reply, as I am now, the frame around my entry screen goes orange - that type of thing seems a good (re)starting point.
