So here we go, heading towards a new calendar year & yet again I'm not technically debt free :rotfl:.
I decided to pay the remaining £200 in my Buffer Fund towards the CC as a gesture of goodwill, but inspite of lovely bank's promise to providee me with interest free overdraft ... I cannot bring myself to use any more oney form my current account until the rent, c-tax & all other vital direct debits have been paid.
So, there's about £600 on the CCCCC but if you take into account the overdraft & the balance of my holiday fund, then the outstanding balance is covered . .
January is still going to be a tight month though & I will face some tough decisions. Prime example : today while in Waitrose I noticed bottle of Bombay Sapphire on offer at £20 & bottle of Gordon for £17. There I am with about £45 in my purse & there they are with £37 price tags ... hmmmmmm
Anyway, got woken up by cat trying to nibble my eyelashes & then post lady bearing a parcel form amazon. No ! how very dare you, I am innocent this time, my lovely aunt sent me a couple of books as a gift . .
I now have 16 to read .
Pottered about a bit then woke DD up so we could experience the living room together. You know how lovely it as after you've decorated & you into the room for the first time once it's done ? Well that's what the new sofa experience is like for me .
Yes I know I need to get out more, it's on the list . .
Decided we couldnt face town shopping, grocery shopping & cinema all in one day so opted for full on shopping & to do cinema on monday when we have nothing else on '. '.
My sister replied to invite, but warned that as they already have plans ( usual weekend hobby ) she couldn't be sure what time they'd arrive. I'm sensing reluctance so just said if she could make it then great, but if not, then no worries. I've made my final family peace offer & in future will either phone a friend or ask the audience . .
Grumpy played his scrabble word & sent a message wishing me happy new year & asking whether I'd received my bus pass & telgram from the Queen :rotfl:. I cannot write my reply here . .
So after fortifying coffee we headed for town, dropped books off at library on the way & had to park on the roof of the carpark. It was rammed, & we didn't stay long, only £2.20 on parking. I found a print for the wall - not exactly what I wanted but only £15 ( pocket money) & it creates a bit of interest on a bare wall. Despite my best efforts, I could not find the red skinny belt I'm yearning for, so will have to use up precious Clothes Challenge budget for next year
We hate sales shopping so soon headed off for the serenity of waitrose where I faced the above mentioned booze dilemma. Sadly, I realised that I cannot sink myself into bottles of gin any longer for as of Tuesday I need to be out of the house & in the car by 8.15 every day  Think I'll be back on the peppermint tea ...
 * brief interlude while I read text from Laidback Dude *
Aww sweet, happy new year message - no kisses at the end this time though, must have sobered up :rotfl: ...
 - Back to Waitrose, I bought loads of foody bits, more soft drinks, crisps & salad stuff & things we needed anyway like butter, potatoes & milk so by the time we got to the till it cost £37.87 . .
I took the 2 x £20 notes from my purse & handed them over, hence The Credit Card Spell was broken :j DD noticed too ... is it very shameful that she's seen me get the card out so many times that she knows both my pin & the security code ?
 * interlude while I read text from big sis*
Hmmm gloating about being out apparently, whatever ... ...
 - Back to me I now have just £7.35 in my purse but I don't need to buy anything foodwise until the end of next week, the car is full of fuel due to being sat in the garage since I fuelled up last, I've paid for DDs lunches for the week & by the time Friday comes & I meet my lovely friend in Windsor, I'll have been paid for home-job. I haven't set up the spending spreadsheets for 2012 yet ( excel book back in the library now so tough :rotfl:) but might have a try at one of the iphone apps ...
The Big Pink Book has been archived ( for posterity) & I have a Big Black Book ready to go . .
Just off for a G&T top up, back in a bit ...0
