What a brilliant day you had! I must say, I lurve the sound of turquoise icing - not too sure about the diet book from the same source tho :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Your UNchosen family really does take the biscuit a little bit, doesn't it ... you're coping with it really well now, tho, good for you.

Just a thing about timing of funerals: in my (admittedly limited) experience, you have to go with what timeslot is available - so its a compromise between day and time :( sorry, rather a sombre note to end a congratulatory post on, but the main thrust of this post is .....

You Rock! Like, totally dude! :T:T:T

    Good morning all,

thank you for yet more lovely wishes :A.

I'm really making the most of my last lazy day, stayed up far too late last night watching the film ( not really my thing, far to gory & violent, but had to be done so I can tick off my list ;)) & consequently woke up far too late this morning.

I'm giving my inner organs a break from booze now, my resistance has crept up over the last couple of weeks so clearly time to stop.

The diet book is actually the one that I was following last year which I lost 8lbs on ( & then regained when we went to Cornwall & rediscovered scones, ice cream & pasties :rotfl:). It involves a lot of meat & frankly my body is craving veggies, soup & salad at the moment, but I will read it at some point as I think it may help my psychological experiences with food.

I've now written my thank you notes & they're ready to post, so in a bit we'll wander to post office where I can pay in cheques & cash & enjoy a bit of January Sunshine.

Other plans for today are to whizz about with the hoover ( again) remove last few party type decoration things, 'encourage' DD to do something about her room, do a mental meal plan for the next few days, go to cinema this evening & try hard to get an early night.

I'm desperate for banking to return to normal, inspite of payments done, my account is static & until all the direct debit & standing orders go out tomorrow, I wont have a clue what's going on.

Annoyingly we now have more food than we need ( my own fault, after excess buying & certain people not turning up) so I must find a way to use it up without incurring further weight gain .

I'm not actually sure I'm going to make it to the new exercise class this week; due to today's bank holiday, it means that I'll be working at home-job on Thursday & it's likely to be horrendous this week (people of Surrey can't possibly be expected to do their own chores for the one week of the year that home-job business is closed, so they just save it all up instead. Invariably all the men have brand new shirts & their lazy wives don't even wash them, just send them to us with all the annoying little plastic clips still on ).

I might restart the daily walk after work again, although I was previously doing it to incorporate hospital visits, so the circumstances were a bit grim, it did clear my mind, get me outside in the fresh air & provide a bit of exercise. Once I'm home it's often difficult to get motivated as there's always something else to do.

Right, I'm off to have a bath & get dressed now - I know, what a lazy scumbum :rotfl:

    Bye for now
    xx

Clearly I'm a bit of a donut - if the bank is closed due to it being a bank holiday, then the post office will be too  so no paying cheques in today then :o

Hoovering done, off for a restorative bath now :rotfl:

    Hey Pippi,

thank you for good wishes & happy 2012 to all you Stripey lot :D

The bath worked a treat; I felt much less grungy & even finally got around to re-sparkling the bathroom so that's another task off the list. I also threw another load of washing in the machine, the consequence of DD finally sorting out her room :rotfl:. I think that rather than saving all laundry for the weekend & then getting overwhelmed by the volume of it, from now on I'll put a wash on every other day & keep on top of it.

Decided to head off out for a walk as although pretty chilly, bright sunshine too. The plan was to head to Virgina Water lake but seeing the car park was rammed we drove on, next attempt was Savill Gardens but again, cars queuing each side of the road to get in, headed onwards towards the deer park, but foiled again. Seems like the entire south of the coutnry had the same thoughts as us - probably due to yesterday being full of torrential rain.

Gave up & ignored the fact that I'd driven about 15 miles for nothing, so headed homewards & ended up at nearby hill top park with wishing well & amazing views over the rive & towards the airport. We did a quick half hour march - really biting wind up there - then headed home but completely forgot to post the cards so I'll do that on my way to work tomorrow.

It's so lovely to come back to a clean, tidy, warm home & with a lamp, fairy reeds & candles it just looks so much more cosy than having overhead lights on :). We've had tea & crumpets mmmmm & we're off to the cinema in about half an hour. DD insists on having popcorn but I would happily not bother. I'm right off any sweet stuff now & cakey, pastry type things just make me feel green.

Off to do washing up now before we head out, must remember Fun Money & think about what to wear for work tomorrow. Not much choice really; black jeans or a dress as everything else too tight :o

    Will report spends later ...
    xx

I thought it was 'bargain monday' at the local cinema, true, but only before 5pm, the film we went to see was 5.10 so I had to pay full whack at £15.60, then the popcorn & a drink was another £4.15 (just one small tub of popcorn & a bottle of water, seriously, £4.15 just for that) *Mental note to buy supply of popcorn & bottles of drink to take with us next time & hide from DD* Parking was £3.30 as just over 2 hours grrrrr.

I only used £20 of my Fun Fund - didn't want to break into a tenner so paid for parking with cash in my general purse . I now have just £5.75 left, still not worried though, we have more food than we can possibly eat in a week :).

I'm off to bed now, first time before 1am for ages so just hope I wake up in the morning ...

Roll on Friday & may the next 3 days pass in a hazy blur :D

Grrrr at cinema, they are outrageous :(

We have an Ode*n here and their points card is a lot better than it was - basically 10% back - so movie buddy and I are working out the cheapest combo of card/ 25% off on Tuesdays/ 2-for-1 Orange Wednesdays. But I take in sparkling water (or Ame seeing as it's on offer at Waitro :) ) - cheaper and much healthier than the bucket-sized soft drinks. Plus expensive chocolate or another treat... if I'm spending a fiver on naughty food, I'll have Hotel Chocolat thanks :rotfl:

    I second roll on Friday

Cinema prices are outrageous, aren't they! But the rest of the day sounds great, even in spite of the 15 mile drive :) I hope today goes well, Lula.
