Don't forget to take one of similar ilk to him so that he has an excuse to drop it back round to yours

Errr he's currently borrowing Happy Feet :rotfl: as a single guy without kids he says he rarely gets to see that type of film, so I'm discreetly lending him all ours :shhh:
I am on fire today, have done loads of stuff on the dreaded task list & some interesting opportunities are also occurring at just the right time too.
Having rearranged all the furniture ( whilst still ignoring tiny door frames) DD decided that we should just take down the tree & all christmassy decorations, it's over now & we need to move on ! She was brilliant & the place is now clear of all things noel ish. The neighbours still have all their lights, trees etc up so we've kept the fairy lights
.
While all this was going on a leaflet arrived giving details of a new exercise class starting next week. It's on a Thursday evening ( no home-job so perfect day for me) & literally a 10 minute walk from home so perfect for warming up & cooling down & no car required.
I've been thinking of joining the gym at DDs school but reckon I'll give these classes a go first as I'm more likely to meet friendly people & have a laugh there, than at a gym. I'll be less self conscious too ... can start at the gym when in a bit better shape
. Should probably
No spending at all today & I've not taken the car out for the garage for a week now = much money saved :j.
Need to get to bed soon so I'm ready for my early morning delivery, & then get on with the laundry & chores so then we can get out & about
G'night

Hello lovelies,
breathe easy - it's all fine :j.
I hardly slept all night, partly due to worrying about doorways & secondly because neighbours cat has taken my locking the catflap very personally. 3 times during the night I heard him battering against the flap & scratching at it
I was most annoyed - the bluddy thing has no right to get so aggressive, he doesn't live here . So, at 5 this morning I crept down the stairs, yanked the door open & clapped my hands at him, next time he's getting squirted with cold water
.
Anyway, my alarm went off at 6.20 so I poured coffee down my throat & made myself look human & at 10 to 7 I got the call to say they were on their way. A sweet little old man with no teeth & a big bruiser who both looked quite terrified at the prospect of getting the sofa up the outside steps & through the door set at a 90 degree angle ... clearly people didn't have furniture when the places were built :rotfl:.
Amazingly they managed it & it easily went through the doorway :j - "all about the angles" so the bruiser told me
. I was delighted & admitted that this was the first furniture ever to arrive in one piece, every other items has been flat pack. They suggested that I never move house & were really chuffed when I wished them a Happy New Year with a tip.
It was all wrapped in this amazing seamed & coated bubble wrap which the old toothless guy confided that they were supposed to take away but it's "brilliant for covering your car". I'm thinking 'camper van covering'
& it's also very good for not showing your nosy neighbours exaclty what you've bought
.
It's a bit firmer than I was expecting but that's because it's a sofa bed. If I had a spare room I wouldn't bother, but I dont (DD far too comfy in there
) & I do like to be able to put people up if necessary - just don't tell my family :shhh:
We tried out the bed & its very comfy, far more than the torture rack, took a bit of effort to put it away & DD nearly lost her fingers in the process but it's fine now.
Somewhow, we've managed to rearrange everything so it doesn't look cluttered until DD1 can rehome the old sofa & we still have a small dining table - tv sofa dinners are now banned - although DD has decided we have a sitting sofa & chair & the 'dining sofa' :rotfl:.
Having removed all christmas decs & tidied & vacuumed I thought it looked a bit bare & decide that what it needs is a floor lamp to go next to the chair & big bold canvas for one wall. Decided to check out Argoose website & discovered the ( probably terribly common & no longer fashionable) reeds with fairy lights attached in a perfect chocolatey colour. One left in stock at nearby store & reduced by £7 ( Lulas Karmic Law gifts again
) So within 2 seconds of reserving online, I received a text with my reservation number :T
How on earth did we manage before the internet ?
Decided to carry on with delcuttering & tidying until the whole place is done & sorted through all the stuff under my bed. DD used to have those cheap canvas drawers in her room & I refused to get rid of them in case I found a use for them. Well they are now serving as utterly excellent underbed drawers
, two are full of washing powder & loo rolls, one is full of my body lotions & potions stash & another 2 are full of my summer shoes.
With the bed remade, laundry done & place delcuttered & vacuumed we headed off to collect reedy lights, post cards & get milk. Library books still in the car because it was chucking down & no parking available, will do that tomorrow.
Reedy lights look fab & twinkly:j DD is lounging on new sofa while my paperwork, laptop & I are spread out on the old one - so everybody's happy.
Now contemplating installing partition wall in living room & lodger on the old torture rack - next stop the loft :rotfl:.
There's been a lot of hard work going on this week & throughout the last year, but it's all been worth it & I'm actually looking forward to the start of the new year & even though not entirely debt free, what I owe is manageable & will soon be paid off & then the saving can begin ...
I paid for the reeds with my pocket money & tomorrow when we go into town I'll be looking for a big bit of wall art & that will also come out of my pocket money.
I've paid for DDs lunches for next week & after todays trip to the co op to buy milk & bread, I now have £48.55p in my purse.
I briefly considered heading to London tomorrow night to see the fireworks, but warnings of long waits for trains & the inclement weather have reassured me that my sofa with a G&T & the whole display on tv after a bit of Jools is the right place to be
.
I'm off to find some supper,
bye for now
