  • destiny....it's pretty well your own choice really.

If you are making a pie with both a bottom and a "lid", then I'd suggest short crust pastry - flaky pastry on the bottom would go soggy.

For something like a steak pie, where you probably are only going to put a "lid" on, puff pastry is probably nicer, but it really is up to you.

It's a Brita and takes the Maxtra cartridges.

It says it reduces chlorine, limescale (carbonate hardness) [which is hard water innit?], aluminium, heavy metals (like lead and copper) and certain pesticides as well as organic impurities.

In an area with hard water it should do 100 litres.

My water is so 'orrible I really thought I'd be able to taste a difference.

Squeaky have you tried boiling it and letting it cool and then running it through the filter?

Bit of a palaver i know but if you do this and it tastes better you could just use the filtered water for drinking water and fill the kettle as normal from the tap for hot drinks without filtering.

Cant you go to Mr ts yourself? Failing that do it and just make sure you pay yourself back.

OH darn and blast! Yes it's there on the packs of savoury rice - hydrogenated vegetable oil :( !

It's also in their Tomato and Basil Pasta :( but not the Garlic Pasta :).

Again it's in their packet casserole mixes  .

Checked the packet couscous - but there's none in there :T
