Got any ready brek? Or quick porridge oats? They break down well and thicken things nicely.
Ready Brek has a strange taste, so oats would be better as they are more bland. I bought some RB a year or so ago as it was on BOGOF in the Co-op and I remember liking it as a child. I had some and it was revolting and my children wouldn't eat it either. It ended up in the bin (I know, I know not very MSE - but I couldn't think of anything else to do with it!)0 -
Sticking some potato in would work too, I would think, if you have any spare spuds in the house! This also reduces saltiness if you're ever overgenerous with the salt! If you think the soup is as cooked as it needs to be, boil a spud, mash it and stir ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Have you blended it? If not, remove some of the liquid and whizz it.0

Tashja - I don't see why not - does it say anything on the packaging about re-freezing? I'm guessing not as its from the deli?0

The "system" has eaten Tashja's original post.
Tashja - could you ask again on this thread please...

Squeaky - thank you for saving my sanity - I thought I'd lost the plot!
Poor Tashja!0 -
Nope
*I* lost it. I selected her post to move onto the quick questions on freezing thread and the system just ATE it.
I've checked the list of Tashja's posts and it's even gone off that - so I can't chase it off to wherever it went and grab it. I'm about to write a grumpy post to the webmaster, harumph!Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
