Liver. I hate the stuff, but am being forced to include it in my diet.

It is as simple as whizzing in processor and adding to mince when I make Spag Bol/Tacos/Lasagne etc??

I need to hide it BIG TIME, cos I hate everything about Liver and will know its "there"!!

One lot I think must have had the livers in, the stock was a nasty murky green colour. Would that be the liver? Or is it rank organs?
I think it would have been bile / gallbladder. Personally I thought you needed to remove these as they are bitter, BUT I googled 'green bits of turkey giblets' and found this on the first link:

A liver in giblets may on rare occasions be green. This would reflect bile that entered from a gallbladder. Even though it is unattractive, a green giblet piece is safe to eat.

    OK?

I think you're right it is that vile bile.
That'll teach me to pick through the organs next time :o
  • What sort of flour did you use? I always use bread flour. How much flour? I make the piadine recipe and 175g flour makes 4.

Thankyou Penelope Penguin, sorry have been working, so haven't had chance to MSE! Thanks for the reply, I used plain flour as it said in the recipe, but will try yours next time I was a bit surprised when it said plain flour, but I had recently used it for pizza bases and it was successful. Anyway thanks again.

Does anyone know why as many beans/kidney bean you can get down your throat in one day only counts as one of your 5 fruit and veg malarky? It`s the same with fresh orange too?

Also what can I do with a load of shreaded paper? My recycling council thingy wont take it.

It's to get you eating a variety of things, I think.

Will they take it if you stuff it into envelopes? The problem with a plastic bag of it is that they have to take it out of the plastic bag, and then it goes everywhere. I had to take a load to the tip the other day because I had too much for my recycling box, and there it all has to be 'posted' into slots. I wouldn't have fancied 'posting' shredded paper, but if it had been in envelopes I could have done it.

But ours usually goes on our compost heap.

Hi, can anyone help me please.

I have some mushrooms to use up (failing that they will go in the freezer, but I'm having pork loin tonight (baked/grilled?) with carrots and fine beans and was thinking of putting the extra mushrooms into some condensed mush sauce as a sauce for the pork.

But any other suggestions? Too late for the SC as I won't be home until 6.30pm.

    Catt xx

    Hi

I'm making homemade cheese, onion and potato pasties, the recipe makes 4 but I only need 2 so i'm going to freeze the other two, my question is do I cook the other two and then freeze them or do I freeze them uncooked? Hope this makes sense.

    Thanks :)

    Hey OS peeps :hello:

We have a bunch of CDs/DVDs that aren't needed (mostly freebies from weekend papers) and wondered if there's any OS use for them other than the bin? It looks like our area doesn't offer a recycling facility for these at the moment :o
