You could add a little bit of mustard to the mash, either before freezing or after defrosting, then if using it for pie topping, I cover it in cheese yummmmm!

  • Chutney needs time to mature - eaten too soon and it has a harsh vinegar taste. I make mine in Autumn and wouldn't think to open it before Christmas. Your mum's chutney should be just perfect now.

Thanks Penny...I shall eat and enjoy it now!

Can I freeze mashed potato? A bag of spuds seems to go off before we use them all, so thought I could mash them all in one go and divide into portions so less waste. But didn't know if this would work.

I've seen frozen mashed potato for sale in the supermarket!

I wondered that as well but came to the following conclusion.

    DD - darling daughter

    DH - darling husband

    hope I'm right!

And DS is Darling Son. If more than one in the family then the eldest is DS1, youngest is DS2,3,4 etc!

Hi, I have managed to get them white again. Used the dylon whitner I brought., put it in a hot bowl of water, then left the shirts to soak overnight. Now look like new again, thanks for your help.

If I want to add a thread to my subscribed threads just to watch it, but not necessarily post to it, how do I do that without actually posting to it first?

At the first post in the thread, towards the right hand side, you will see "Thread Tools", it has a drop down menu and one of the options is "Subscribe to this thread" click on that and ... voila :D

I've got a beef casserole on the go and I've not got any cornflour to thicken stock  Is there anything else I can use to thicken it? I've got gravy granules or flour, will either of those do the trick?
