Sorry if this is dim...
can I freeze cooked ham in a big lump or should I cook it up into things??
THANKS!!!DFW Nerd #1310 -
You could freeze it in a lump, but then when defrosted, you would have to eat it in one go....probably better to either slice it or cut it into smaller pieces....you could always get 2 out to use if one wasn't big enough.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0

You can freeze raw meat, defrost it, cook it and freeze again.
What you can't do is freeze cooked meat, defrost it and then freeze again.

According to the long thread about people breaking the florets off the stalks in the supermarket, the stalks taste just the same. As for being stringy, I don't think they would be, but I'd trim the main stalk well: if you quarter it you'll be able to see a difference between the inner and outer stalk, and I'd only use the inners.Penelope_Penguin wrote: »I'm making broccoli soup. Should I use the stalks or just the florets? Will the stalks make it stringy?

It's the same with cauliflower: the inner part of raw cauli stalks is yummy, but if you don't trim that darker outer bit off, it's quite bitter. I've also started nibbling raw broccoli stalks ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

The stalks are not stringy. Peel away the darker out stalk and slice, tasty.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
