  • Morning all.
My internet connection went AWOL yesterday. Didn't realise how much I would miss it.
Really do not have time to work through yesterday's thread so can I send a general :grouphug: to all those who need one.
Right - off to check on the marmalade then start tidying this tip.

Have loaded dishwasher and would have hung washing out but as it is trying to snow it did not seem a good idea.

Waiting in for a delivery so dare not pop in shower or do anything upstairs in case delivery person does the famous "Tap once on the door and then run like greased lightening before anyone has the chance to answer the door."

Have slow cooker on low with mince, sausages, grated carrots and onion. Wanted to add chopped tomatoes but we do not have any and I dare not pop out to get some. Added a couple of tins of baked beans instead to add bulk and extra protein.

Frozen stiff and hands are freezing!!!

    Hugs to everyone.

    Morning all!

Yep snow here. Must be drifts of ummm at least 2 or 3 cms:rotfl: Consequently DH spent 20 minutes sat on a stationery train between stations because of congestion at Lewisham:rolleyes: Finally got to work 40 minutes late:eek: Goodness only knows what will happen if we have any real snow:rotfl:
Having said that I really don't fancy cleaning off the car to go shopping, so I suppose I'm a proper wuss too! Must say though that it actually feels warmer now that it has snowed.

Well there's loads of washing and ironing with my name on it so I'd best get back to it (and it delays the inevitable car clean, and a visit to Sainsbury's) And must get my lamb into the SC or we'll have to join you PP!!!!

Take care, especially if this snow turns to ice,
    CMxx

  • Have had a nice hot shower to thaw me:D Have 2 layers on including me thermals and thickest pj's! The lamb stew smells devine and have just been informed that one of our friends is having dinner with us again tonight and stew is his fav-think he was here last week when we had it. Will do a load of dumplings again;)

WM has finished and OH has put on airer. DW has been unloaded and part filled again. Floors need a quick sweep and upstairs has been tidied. Some ironing needs doing but that can wait.

Still a few flutters of snow here on and off:p

Have completed one essay and half way through the other, so have stopped for half an hour for a cuppa and a sarnie as im starving today. I have put on 8lbs in the last 3 months which Im happy about though as I needed it.

Had the formal invite to sisters Birthday Party this Saturday. Its her 30th and is being held in a posh hotel in East Sussex, with all the family coming from all over the UK....lovely:eek:    we are staying there overnight and have a full english included which me folks have treated us too:D Apparently champagne is free all night but we dont really like champers but sister loves it:confused: hopefully, we can have other drink instead. Bought her pressy last week in Morrisons-they have a lovely bottle of champagne which is £25+ a bottle and a box of Thornton choccies normally £12+ a box and if you buy both, you get for £15-have a bottle bag here and a card-so sorted for £15;) Its a valentine day promotion currently running in there, so may be a nice pressy to put away or treat yourself:confused: Sister has bought a new D&G dress from uptown and is wearing some posh shoes, so I suppose I will drag my classic LV bag/purse out and my designer trousers that I havent worn in ages and match up with a top. I hate posh do's! .....are they happy though...NO there not! DD wants to wear a dress:eek:      ...i think my mum has blackmailed her, so I hope shes getting something good out of it:rotfl:

    Anyway, I'd better stop nattering.

    Hugs to all.

  • hello everyone! Sorry Just realised Ive signed in as DH - ITS SHEZ sorry for confusion! just in case you thought a new guy had joined!

Yes woken up this morning by my DD & DS to "ITS SNOWY" - almost melted now though.

Thanks for the meat/freezing suggestions yesterday. Just making a cottage pie and fish pie to use up some desiree spuds that were about to sprout!
    Haddock smells lovely!

went to MrTs to get an 8" springform tin - but they only have 9" - want to do Jamie Olivers lemon drizzle cake and also a basic cheesecake topped with fruit from the freezer.

Do you think the 9" will be ok? or will I have to "up" the ingredients to compensate?
Congratulations to andrea on the birth of your baby:T

  • Well everyone I have decided to try and make an effort to post every day on here. No snow <sulk sulk sulk> but I live in hope. So far since I came back to work (a whole 2 weeks ago as my gall bladder was playing up - can't wait for the op next month) Mr Rage has been making my sandwiches every morning - which is quite nice. I've also been baking a lot. Mr Rage's contract has now finished so we're back down to just my wage (boo!). Still we're poor but we're happy(ish). Tonight we will be having the second half of the chicken curry we made the other night and then just staying in. Did manage to pay the household credit card off in full last night thanks to being paid from my private secretarial work, so it might be large vimtos all round!! Right, I'm off to search the freebies board.
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
