No snow here, it's pretty frosty but a lovely bright crisp day.
My first appointment of the day has just cancelled (it was an appraisal as well!), so all I've got today is a lunch meeting with a member of staff on long term sick. I'm not sure she's going to like what I have to tell her, so I opted for a meeting in a very public place so she's less likely to make a scene. Sneaky! Plus it's at Cheshire Oaks, so I think a quick mooch around the shops is in order (I'm sure Nels will know of some local bylaw making it illegal to visit & not shop ;))
Even though I'm not weighing myself, all this healthy eating is definately paying off. Just tried on a Monsoon dress I haven't worn for about 4 years because IF I managed to do the zip up to the top it squashed my boobs into a hideous shape - and it fits perfectly. I'm away on a conference this weekend with a do on Saturday night and was thinking I would have to buy something new. Result :j

Congratualtions to Andrea & her new family, and hugs to all those feeling under the weather. Enjoy the snow while it lasts for those of you who have it!
  • Hello:hello: Can I sneak in?
Thought I might join in here as I've been lurking and I think by posting I might be a little more motivated to finish the jobs I start.
I am really quite OS anyway but fall off the wagon sometimes and despite meal planning and cooking from scratch and making my own bread and yogurt etc I still seem to run out of money at the end of the month. Definitely need to be more disciplined about buying "bargains" that I don't really need :o
    Today I must:
    Clean kitchen
    Change Beds
    Go to bank
    Do some paperwork for OH
    Hoover
A bit of ironing:mad: (the one job I really hate)
    Walk 10,000 steps
(there it's all down in black and white now so no excuses);)
Today I must not: Spend all day on MSE and then start running around like a mad person before the kids get home from school.
Have a good day everyone and stay warm those who are poorly:D
  • SNOW, SNOW AND MORE SNOW.

And of course due to adverse weather conditions and a hour long wait for the train this morning, we regret to inform you that the 07:25 service to Charing Cross has been cancelled. So has the 07:40 and more or less anything that gets me to work.

    I'm working from Home Yay!!!!

Although I'm freezing to the bone.

Hope everyone is ok. It's the first time Bloke has seen in Snow in London so he is very excited. But he had to go in, as he only works at Canary Wharf, so it a bit gutted. He wanted to see what Greenwich Park looked like covered in a crisp white blanket.

Pretty much like the picture we have hanging in our hall I said. I don't think he appreciated that comment when I left him at the bus stop grinning that my boss agreed I could work from home.

Nice Hot cup of Tea and warm lap top on my lap, in the company of friends. My idea of a great morning ahead.

    Morning all

No snow here this morning - thick ice on the car though. They keep saying on the local news that our little area of Kent is due to get heavy snow showers this afternoon and 15cm's over night...........bring it on!!! :D

I've just defrosted with a cup of tea and a cat on my lap whilst having a read of the thread and I'm now going to spring into action and get some jobs done (no - really I am......well - it's the intention anyway).

Have made an interesting concoction for dinner tonight - last nights left over jacket spuds (I did 8 large ones) and the remains of the mixed bean and veg chilli (which was lush). I've sliced the cooked potatoes and layered them up with the chilli and some grated cheese and going to bung a cheese sauce on the top.....bake.......and hopefully it will be yummy.

The first job of the day is the one I hate most of all.......cleaning out the fire ashes - I'd happily pay someone to come in and do that......then it's on with the music and get moving instead of having the heating on.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Hi all

Congratulations Andrea :j . We have a slight covering of snow here in Derbyshire, just a quick hello before I set off to Citizens Advice Bureau. I volunteer as an adviser every Wednesday, we have an absolute avalanche of debt cases this January. Lots more people wanting to see us, unfortunately not enough staff/volunteers.
Later on will brave the weather again and set off to the library with the kids, a good excuse to indulge with some hot chocolate I reckon;)

Have a great day, will log on later to see how you all are.
