Rising, Can you google volunteering and look up what is happening locally in your area? May well be some organisations looking for evening support and it would make you feel needed.
Take care,

Morning, nsd5 yesterday, but had to get a couple of bits from Lidl this morning, plus have put ds2 into after school club this afternoon. It's expensive, but I'm too scared of what will happen if he's at home. Lady from CAMHS coming tomorrow to do a home visit, and we have an appointment with both of the ladies we are seeing next week and it sounds as though they have a few ideas of what his problems may be.
Cheryl sounds really good with this man, if you're relaxed enough to give him your home number then that's definitely a good sign.:)
BDINI Having been the tenant that would fail the credit check along with having a guarantor who doesn't earn enough to pass the credit check I'm on the other side of the fence to everyone else. I completely get where they're coming from saying err on the side of caution, but when I moved in here I failed the credit check and my dad didn't earn enough for what they wanted as guarantor. I had to beg for the house, but the landlord eventually folded and has admitted I've been his best tenant since his mother moved out of the house. I'd just sold my house, lost my job & split with my ex, on benefits (which is not what he wanted), hence the failing credit check, but I managed to convince him that I'm not the 'scum' that lots of people think benefit claimants are and I've been here nearly 4 years now. I've not missed a rent payment (been late with a few, but he understands that HB is paid in arrears, and I do catch up as soon as hte HB is paid to me) the house is in better condition than it was when I moved in (apart from the wall that ds2 has destroyed, but that will be repaired asap) adn he's promised me the house is mine as long as I want it. The 2 lots of people who were here before had both adults working, but rent payments were late or not paid at all and the ones before I moved in wrecked the house (even to the point where door frames had to be replaced). What I'm saying is that a credit check means nothing. On paper I'm sh..it with money, in reality I'm better with money than anyone I know. And just because someone fails a credit check doesn't mean they're going to be unreliable and destroy the house. Good luck with whatever you decide though and go with your gut.

Oh bum! I'm just sitting here working some money out. Now this new job that I'm due to start, tbh I don't think it's going to happen. The manager called me the other day to confirm hours again, he was asking if I can do under 16, which I absolutely cannot do due to tax credits, but he didn't sound like he could fit me in over 16 hours. Of course employers NI conts are set at 15 hours now aren't they whereas they used to be 16 hrs so employers like their p/t staff to work 15 or less. So tbh I think they're going to say they can't find a place for me if I'm completely honest. BUT I've just been running a load of figures through entitled to and into spreadsheets etc. Working on 16 hrs a week, 4 days a week, taking into account childcare for DD plus holiday childcare for ds's, plus the extra travelling costs we will be at least £40 worse off than we are currently (I think it would actually be a bit more, maybe nearer £45-£50). We currently have a weekly surplus of £35.
