Hi BDINI
I'm going to agree with Cheryl and kerri and suggest you try to contact no 3 again to see if she's still interested.
I'd be very wary of the new prospect, tbh, especially as you can't get rental insurance, you don't want to be in the same position as with your last tenant. I do understand you really want to get someone in and, as wannabe said earlier, not everyone is the same, can you meet them and see what you think? If you do decide to go with them, Cheryl's suggestion is a good one, try and negotiate with the agent.
I'm not surprised your head is hurting, it isn't a easy decision to make.
(((hugs))

wannabehermit wrote: »Oh bum! I'm just sitting here working some money out. Now this new job that I'm due to start, tbh I don't think it's going to happen. The manager called me the other day to confirm hours again, he was asking if I can do under 16, which I absolutely cannot do due to tax credits, but he didn't sound like he could fit me in over 16 hours. Of course employers NI conts are set at 15 hours now aren't they whereas they used to be 16 hrs so employers like their p/t staff to work 15 or less. So tbh I think they're going to say they can't find a place for me if I'm completely honest. BUT I've just been running a load of figures through entitled to and into spreadsheets etc. Working on 16 hrs a week, 4 days a week, taking into account childcare for DD plus holiday childcare for ds's, plus the extra travelling costs we will be at least £40 worse off than we are currently (I think it would actually be a bit more, maybe nearer £45-£50). We currently have a weekly surplus of £35. Oh crap!
(((hugs))) wannabe, what a situation to be in. I can't offer any suggestions but just wanted to send you some support.

Only been down the 1st page and a couple that sound interesting - some still a bit far to commit to over winter but sure I'll be able to find something close to home - thanks for that!
Once again everyone, thanks for your support - it really is deeply appreciated :A
ETA: Jinty .... thanks for the treat purse suggestion, I will be giving that a try!
Good news rising, fingers crossed you find something that suits you, it's surprising what's around when you start looking.
Don't forget to look after yourself, you've had a big shock.
Take care

Well I can declare I got NSD 12 on Friday and NSD 13 yesterday :j
No NSD today as my little sis passed her driving test (first time!) so got her a card and a teeny prezzie.
Will be back in the morning to catch up with the thread!“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”
NSD Challenge: August 2017 2/150 -
Had another good couple of days communicating with new chap yesterday
On Sunday he was watching films at home, and I was rather surprised by his choice - Monsters Inc, Nemo and Ratatouille. I love the first, quite enjoyed the second, but have never seen the third. He then mentioned (almost rather sheepishly) that he likes White Christmas, which is one of my all time favourites - so we got onto discussing classics. We both like Christmas Carol, but he's never seen Sound of Music or Annie (something I intend to rectify) and can't remember if he's seen Oliver! or not (another I own). He seems to have a pretty decent Disn3y collection - certainly a lot of the more recent stuff than I have, and a number I've not even heard of - so he intends to introduce me to those. Makes a fantasic change from being expected to sit through Sci-Fi or martial arts type films, and being sulked at if I want to watch something that's a bit of a weepy
While we were texting early yesterday evening he asked what I was having for tea, and I replied that it depended on what (if anything) I found in clearance at 'work' - at which he picked up I was walking down to the shop. I've mentioned having something for tea and/or supper that came from reductions before, but not to the extent I later told him I'd picked up yesterday.....
I managed to pick up 2x individual shepherd pie, 1x bag 6 individual chicken breast fillets, 1x small lamb breast joint, 2x 2 individual ginger sponge puddings, 1x tub 'best' custard, 1x head brocolli, a family sized quiche, a mozerella cheese ball and 4 packs of 'best' shortbread fingers - and still got change out of £6 :T The chicken alone should have been £8 !!!
He phoned me after I'd eaten (one of the shepherds pies - the other is in the freezer with the chicken), and we got chatting about buying reductions. Turns out that he's not averse to doing so himself, although he's clearly never done it to the extent I do. His voice didn't even change when I mentioned I've previously stocked up on stuff from a couple of on-line stores that sell stuff past it's 'best before' dateHe specifically mentioned buying bread rolls that way (then putting them in the freezer and pulling out a couple at a time for his pack-ups) and buying meat that either gets frozen 'as is' or cooked that day with the end result being frozen.
Also transpires he rarely eats curry which got a sigh of relief from me (I've only recently started to try and make myself eat some mild ones - until a few years back even the smell turned my stomach), but loves lasagne, spag bol and chille (some of my favourites). When I mentioned I'm also relatively new to Chinese (had never had until March of last year, and have only had a couple of take-aways since then) and still haven't found the one thing that 'hits the spot for me' he said he'll have to take me to a place that does a buffet so I can try lots of bits and see if I can find it that way - which sounds like another date coming up to me
So things are still looking up there, and I'm still feeling good about having decided to walk from my job..... now I just need to get motivated enough to actually start the decluttering of the house !!! Should have made a good start last week, but ended up getting distracted when a certain someone kept texting me for 3 hours before he had to get ready for work
Had to take DS1 shopping yesterday for clothes for a job interview, so that wiped another day!! About to go and wash several days of pots before heading out for a run - then I really must get some housework done (even if it's only cleaning the cloakroom and en-suite and sweeping the carpets in the hall and on the stairs.....Cheryl0 -

I think *crosses fingers* today might be the day that I reach my target
Definitely not tomorrow as I have a Mr T order being delivered (the cupboards are well and truly bare
- when the littlies saw what they had for lunch today they said 'Is that all?'!!! They had a sandwich, scone that I made yesterday and either chicken and rice or yogurt....odd I know, but I'm trying to use stuff up
) Anyway, as they are off tomorrow and I have nothing in I had to do an online order so I've meal planned for Dec (well, up to 23rd!) and ordered all of it in one shop so I should just need fruit, veg and milk etc...
Anyway the point is I will not spend today, I will not spend today, I will not spend today *LMH repeats to herself while writing lines saying 'I will not spend today'! *Be the change you want to see in the world - Gandhi

On NSD 14 now (Sunday and was it Wednesday last week - not sure if I've updated since then). Spent all the rest of the weekend as I was away but still came in under budget
Managed to find a nice top and jeans on Thursday night (didn't go mrT Wed, went and did late night shopping free parking instead the day after!) but it's money I hadn't budgeted for so will see how that affects things when I do my monthly totals tomorrow!
Had a couple of good bits of news re money situation which will make things a bit easier. Keep meaning to update diary on here with it but so flippin busy at the mo I can barely keep up with this thread!
