I hope you aren't burning yourself out IA. I know that kids/work/love/life/debt-busting can be uber full on and you have to keep going, but don't forget some relaxation time too. I know you know this but I've got to write some shizzle, right?I'm the only gay in this forum

Evening all!
Feeling better today thankfully. No idea what was up with me yesterday, must've been a fleeting bug.
Had a course in b'ham today, and the day REALLY didn't start well at all so was in a horrific mood by the time I got to my course. Oops.
I should really be banned from Birmingham, I always end up spending money and my one weakness is 'retail therapy' when I'm feeling crap. Although in fairness I didn't by anything that was massive luxury so I don't feel too guilty and I did feel better for it.
Here's my spending diary update anyway.
Train fare - £8.50
Lunch - £4.04 (didn't get time to make my own!)
Nail varnish - £1.50 (buy one get one free in a sale..)
New boots - £16.99 on the credit card (as the ones I was wearig sprung a leak in the horrendous weather we had so my feet were soggy!
Book/magazine - £14.20 on the credit card. Got a book for DP as a treat, a newspaper to read and a photography magazine as a treat to myself.
Chppy dinner £5 (went halves with DP as I was still in a bad mood and had a hissy fit over dinner LOL)
Also obviously had dance tonight which was £4.
Have rejigged my budgets and should still be on track to save £70 or so this week so it's not had a massive impact bar obviously adding some to the credit card *slaps self on wrists*
Tomorrow is the 2nd date for the girls' sports' day which was supposed to be last week but got rained off. In all honesty I'll be amazed if they end up doing it as it's just as bad as last week and the forecast doesn't look good. What a shame.
Still have the afternoon off tomorrow to look forward to tomorrow so going to spend some child free time with DP.
Hope everybody is having a good week so far!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Never a dull day in the IA household...
What a stressful couple of days. My dad was rushed into hospital a couple of days ago (and is still there as I type this) after having a mini stroke which caused him to fall and break his arm/shatter his collarbone. I only found out about this last night so went up to see him first chance I was allowed today. He's got to have an operation and obviously ongoing treatment for the mini strokes he's been having of late so not quite out of the woods yet.
Obviously I've had to spend out extra which wasn't planned for, but I don't feel I need to make excuses for this. Family comes first obviously sod the budgets. Hospital parking today was £1 plus I bought tv/phone credit for him which was £7.50.
Going to see/speak to him again tomorrow so will see what happens from then on.
Have done our food shopping this evening, spending £51.48 in Aldi and £17.89 in Asda. Going to have to permanently up my food budget to £70 I think, as over the past month I've not been able to get it down to less than £60. Guess it's just the price of food going up again as not really buying anything different. Oh well.
Have updated my budgets and am able to save £54.95 this week now. I'm not moving this over just yet though in case there's any extra spending I need to do because of my dad being in hospital. Will move it Tues when the child benefit goes in and I'll have a new week's budgets to work with.
Hope everyone is well anyway. Sometimes we have to take a step back and despite all the stress of money etc, remember what's really important.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Evening all. Haven't been around as things have been pretty chaotic here as you can imagine! My dad is due to go into hospital tomorrow again for his operation tomorrow so going to be back and forth to the hospital over the next week.
Ended up using a week's worth of petrol in 2 days because of going to/from hospital, so had to fill up earlier than expected. also with the stress we've been treating ourselves more than usual which I know is no excuse, but something you just need a pick me up!
Anyway here's my spending diary update:
Hospital parking 3.00
Xbox game 12.99 (on credit card)
Magazines 12.00 (on credit card)
Petrol 46.00 (on credit card but going to pay it off Friday)
dance for the girls on sat 8.00
pizza hut for dinner 39.63 (on credit card)
Have done my budgets for the week too:
Food £60.00
Petrol £47.00
Social £10.00
School disco £4.00
Dance £15.00
Total out£136.00
Total in £225.55
Surplus to savings £89.55 (Which includes £29 leftover from last week)
If I can save this it'll give me £265.03 in savings for the bills. Payday is a week tomorrow so I'm going to end up needing to make up some money but at least I'll have the majority of it saved which'll make things a load easier to manage!
Anyway, better get on with trying to catch up on everything that I've been falling behind with over the past week!
Hope everyone is well!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
