Phew... evening all! What a week. Has been so busy I feel like I've blinked and skipped a month! Have been meaning to come and update since Friday but haven't had chance as we've been out and about all over the place!

food shop 75.56 Can't remember if I updated and have chucked y receipts! Rubbish aren't I..
car seats 33.96 - I got SO fed up of us constantly having to swap car seats from mine to DP's car so I bought car seats for his car. Oh and an air freshener. Who says romance is dead :rotfl:
petrol 20.04 - Due to driving about all over the place I needed to get extra petrol!
museum fun day 10.00 - We went out Sunday to do some photos for DP's website and took the girls out at the same time.
games for girls 14.48 - Ash traded in some games and managed to get 3 games for £1.48. Bought K a toy to make sure she didn't feel like out. :)
clothes for wedding 42 - We went to a wedding on Saturday so bought the girls new dresses seeing as they'd grown out of all their nice dresses! I also may have bought myself some shoes....

I used my savings for the bit of overspending this weekend, but it was such a good weekend I think for once I'll say f*** it :rotfl:

I've done my budgets for the coming week but it's going to be expensive this week too!

    Food £60.00
    Petrol £47.00
    Social £10.00
    Bills £436.24
    Dance £15.00
work xmas meal £29.95 (Have to book early, the meal isn't til Dec!
bookclub £4.00 Drawing book for Ash I've ordered :)

    Total out £602.19
    Total £624.87

    Surplus to savings £22.68

I also have £42 due to be paid from Quidco which will end up topping up the savings again. Not quite my original plan but I'll make it up at some point!

I'm considering setting up as a freelance photographer for a bit of extra income doing something that I love.Obviously I've got my full time day job so it won't be anything serious, but by registering as self employed I'll be able to do odd paid jobs. I've printed off some info to have a look through and see if I think it's worth it taking into account costs, tax, etc and will decide from there I think :)

Hope everyone has had a good week!

Apologies for the radio black out over the past week. I've been a very very busy money nerd!

I've now officially registered as a self employed freelance photographer. Which is mostly why I've been so busy as I've been trying to get things set up such as my website and sort out pricing/portfolios etc It's all very exciting.
I don't expect to make a profit in my first year at least because I'm going to have to get more equipment the more I do. I've already had to fork out for public liability insurance (which went on the credit card.. £95.40! At least it's tax deductable..) and have some other bits and pieces I'm going to need to sort out.
I'm also awaiting a response from my car insurer to see how much adding business use is going to cost me..
I'm also making a list of stuff I'm going to have to get and advertising etc, but once it's all set up it should less shocking money wise! lol

The weekend was very busy. Was out and about all over the place but in all it was a fab weekend so I'm not complaining.

I have done my budgets this week and will post them tomorrow as I've spent all evening doing website stuff and my eyes are going funny!

Just wanted to do a quick update and say that I am still alive :rotfl:

    Hope everyone is well!

    Evening all!

It's the day after payday, so my extra payment to the mortgage deposit account

:D I like the new location in your sig. too....
  • Wow what a crazy week it's been. Work has been stupid busy, and not only that my efforts to get my photography up and running have been taking up a lot of my time too. Sadly that's meant spending money, a fair bit of which has been on the credit card (insurance and some more equipment) but that'll have been paid once I've done a few jobs (my first one of which is this Friday :) ).
I have been mostly sticking to my budgets but have had a few extras, like a midnight maccys after photographing a gig last night :p.
All in all I'm not too concerned at the moment. I've paid out just over £300 so far but obviously once I'm set up there won't be that many running costs at all.
Anyway, will find time to properly update soon. It's just been crazy busy! No rest for the wicked.
Oh and I apologise for any weird grammar or spelling, I've sorted out a new phone as my old contract is up and I was sick to death of my awful blackberry! Now have a galaxys3 and the keyboard/predictive is very odd to get used to!

Hope everyone is well. Hoping things settle down soon! Lol :)
