Well perhaps birthdays shouldn't be in 'other'.

I think more of a column like "scheduled spends". Such as Christmas, birthdays, the various Hallmark days and the such-like that you have marked on your calendar."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

So excited for tomorrow, fingers crossed we'll know everything then.
Priced up a van from a local company and it's only £39 for the day to hire a transit size one with a £75 depositnot bad I think and we can just do a couple of trips back and forth to each house, then any needed to go pick up some bits and bobs of furniture. Seen a nice folding dining table in IKEA where the chairs fit inside it whilst it's folded which would be a great space saver.
Got a lovely surprise present from OH's Aunt and Uncle of £50 so we bought a microwave from Asd* with it.
The loft clear out on Saturday was crazy. It has meant I have lots more plastic boxes to pack my things up with and I was hoping tonight to pack my jumpers into a suitcase so I can get a bit more of my room packed up tonight/in the morning when I'm off work.
Trying to be good and start putting things on my H*lif*x CC as we get £5 cash back for £300 spent on it each month. So far managed £68.10 and I've paid my section straight off.HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

Evening! We had an amazing time at the gig last night, it was utterly brilliant and only wish we could go again!
Anyway, in less exciting news, it's budget time!
Haven't got dance tonight as DP has gone out to a meeting so isn't able to babysit. On the plus side tonight I had someone finally come and buy my amp so am £250 up. Hurrah! Going to replace the money I needed to make up in the holiday fund after buying my eldest's birthday present first and I also need to get at the very least one new tyre for the car as the MOT is due in May. I know it definitely needs one, but possibly more. I've emailed for a few quotes for 'part worn' tyres as well to try and keep the cost down.
The cat also needs to go back to the vet for another steroid injection as his has worn off and he's starting to scratch and chew himself again. I did consider looking and seeing if I could claim on the pet insurance but I'm not sure how it works as I've never claimed before. No doubt I'll have to pay excess but I'm not sure whether I can claim? It's so confusing. If it's going to be an ongoing thing the presumably I can claim, but would I need to make a new claim each time and pay a new excess? Going to have to dig my policy stuff out and have a look I think. Can't remember if I updated last time after the vets but they reckon he has a flea allergy so they gave him a steroid injection (temporary for 10 days) and it definitely worked, but now it's literally 10 days later and he's started scratching again so he definitely needs to go back for another (and hopefully longer lasting!) injection. Poor mite.
The girls have stopped having school dinners, so I've upped my food budget to £70 to account for the packed lunch stuff. I've had to spend an extra £10 this week on getting stuff for this week as we decided literally sunday night and didn't have much in. Spent £10.06 in the co-op today but that's a one off.
Had to add a budget for a birthday present also as the girls are off to a birthday party for a school friend on saturday.
So here's the budgets as they stand, with the extra £250 taken into account as I'm going to put it into the bank tomorrow.
Food £80.00
Petrol £25.00
Social £10.00
Bills £315.69
Vet £30.00
Dance £10.00
birthday present £10.00
holiday fund £76.29
Total out £546.92
Total
£720.93
Surplus £174.01
This should give me enough to get my tyres done. Not sure I'm going to have much left if I have to have more than one done though! Going to have to get a tyre check done and go from there I think. Pesky cars!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Be careful getting him too many steroid injections Sar, as you could set him up to suffer with diabetes in later life. You should be able to help by keeping on top of the anti flea treatment more regularly. It could also be a food allergy. What are you feeding ?

We signed contracts
fingers crossed the big day is the 19th so less than 2 weeks. Paid him a cheque for 10% today and now moving round the funds so I can send the other 15% hopefully later this week. Money stuff is all starting to blur now and its getting very confusing, just want it all settled. Thankfully we should have enough in the bills account for at least 6 weeks, must tell OH to stop putting money in there for now until I know what's what :P

immoral_angeluk wrote: »Thanks for that, I had no idea! Was just going by what the vet recommended. Doubt it's a food allergy as he's had the same food for ages now and it's never caused him any problem. Vet couldn't see any fleas on him as we deflea him regularly, but what he said is that if he's allergic he would only need one bite to become irritated, even if the flea didn't stay on him or died because of the flea treatment! It's a catch 22.
It could still be a food allergy. Manufacturers do change the recipes without telling us. Some cats can develop allergies after many years of eating the same food.0
