  • Feels good to have a declutter though doesn't it? :)

Oh definitely, still have more to go from the two cupboards I was in last night and 2 more cupboards to go including the giant one under my bed which I dread to think what is in it

  • Happy friday all! Also happy payday! Hurrah!

I haven't managed to go out and do my food shopping, as seeing as me and DP had a childfree night he took me out for dinner instead. :)
Glad it's the weekend. This week has been quite odd work wise as I've been out and about. Looking forward to relaxing over the weekend.

Took our cat to the vets, they seem to think he's got a flea allergy. He hasn't got any fleas but seems he might've been bitten and it's irritated his skin. He's been given a temporary steroid injection to see if that helps. If not have to go back and get some tests done. All in all it cost £26.96, £23 of which was just the consultation  MY god. Oh well, it's worth it if it makes the little fella feel better though. He wasn't impressed with being in a cat carrier in the car though, he was in a grump with me for a good hour or so after!

After dropping the kids off me and DP went out for dinner, and I got the rest of my petrol which was £20. We also played on some of the bandit games so spent £4 on those, not that we won anything! :rotfl:

Also managed to register my capital one card online but haven't recieved the card yet. However when I got onto the online account I've seen that they've given me a £1000 limit :T So I can BT the majority of the remaining balance on the Barclaycard and then just pay off the last bit. Just need the card to come through then I can get it done. Hurrah!

Once I've done my food shopping tomorrow I'll work out what I've got left to pay off the card this week. See, now theoretically I could just pay off the full remaining balance using my wages, and then 'make up' the money from my bills over the next couple of weeks. Hmmm. What to do.

Will see how much exactly would be left and go from there I think. I want it paid off ASAP and if I can make up the money easily anyway then I can't see how it would hurt? I would've paid that 'make up' money off the card anyway, it just gets it done sooner rather than later...

    Decisions decisions!

  • FINALLY done my food shop! I hate doing it on saturdays, it's far too busy!

    Here's my updates
    Aldi £45.04
    Asda £12.34
Dance £8 -the change of £2 was been split, £1 to dinner money and the girls got crisps with the other £1 as I was given a £2 coin and needed change!

Anyway, after updating my budgets and seeing that I had £85 leftover I've gone and paid off the whole remaining balance of the card, as I can easily make up the other £120 over the next couple of weeks easily. It also means I've hit my target off paying of CC1 by the end of Feb :D £888 in 8 weeks isn't bad going! :D

Next will be paying off the last remaining bit of CC2 once I've done the BT when the 0% card comes through but that'll only be £250 or so, so that should be done. April/May will be for paying off the catalogue 0% and then I need to start savings for the summer childcare fees

Once both barclaycards have had a £0 statement I'll close them both. They've both been cut up anyway but no doubt there'll be a touch of interest on the next statement to pay and they won't let me close it til then, but I'm still very happy that they're so close to being gone! :D

  • What a beautiful day here in sunny staffordshire :D
Took the opportunity to get out and start clearing out the front garden seeing as it's gathered litter and leaves over winter. My garden is so high maintenance it's drives me crazy. In fact the whole house is driving me mad, everything is breaking, falling apart and horrible but I don't see the point ploughing money into it to get it sorted if I want to be able to move... It's such a catch 22 so I'm just running everything into the ground really.
Reaaally wish I had the money to move. :(

Last night we got movies to watch so spent £6.97. Will make that up this week though and also to celebrate paying off the credit card we've decided to take the kids to see the muppets next Sunday. :)

Forgot also that I'm due 2 lots of £8.50 train fares back from expenses, so once I get those through they can go off the card remaining bit of CC2.

Can't believe it's Monday again already. Where do these weeks keep going??

  • Evening!
Quick update because I've sorted my eldest's birthday present. She asked to go and see JLS on tour so have managed to find 2 tickets on seatwave (£97 including fees and delivery!) Have paid for it out of holiday savings for now and will make it up before we go away. Considering K's birthday spending worked out around the same amount I think it's worked out pretty well and fair to them both. I'm still amazed at how much they cost but the show is on her birthday as well and pretty close to the stage but yet still the cheapest I could find.
I've never used seatwave before and wasn't impressed with their £14 commission, but I couldn't find any tickets elsewhere as they'd sold out (Not surprising considering it's in a few weeks..). But as I've never used them before and they don't get sent until about a week before it makes me nervous with it being so much money, and also she would be absolutely gutted if something went wrong..

    Fingers crossed anyway! lol.

  • Ah Monday, the start of another week. Had a busy day today, but one day down and 4 to go until the weekend!

Have done my budgets for the week. Have extra money budgetting for social costs, as I've got a gig on the 5th to go to, as well as promising to take the girls to see the Muppets this weekend. Also need to pay for French club this week.

    Food £60.00
    Petrol £25.00
    Social £40.00
    Bills £525.44
    School dinners £20.00
    Dance £20.00
    French club £15.00

    Total out £705.44

    Total in
    £624.85

    Surplus -£80.59
(Still making up money from paying off the CC :) will be back to normal from next week.)

Also discovered that I need a new tyre as the tread is borderline illegal, so at some point this month will need to get a new one. Going to look into part worn ones though to keep the cost down.

Hope everyone's had a good weekend and start to the week!

  • Ooh just had an email to say the JLS tickets have been despatched. That's allayed one of my anxieties about them not turning up on time at least! :)

  • Hope they arrive soon so you can feel better about it :)

I do an exercise class on a Monday night at work (£1.50 a session for this set) and my hamstrings were tight last night so the guy did some proper stretches on me and now my hip hurts like hell this morning. Can I have a new hip please?!

Busy day at work yesterday and another busy one today. Trying not to get my hopes up waiting for the call from the solicitors to make the contract to sign out contract.

Oh it's pay day! I should check my bank balance and transfer some to our joint account tonight for our first set of bills.

  • Quickie update as I'm at work. Have received a cheque for £8.50 in expenses (one more due as well) so am putting that into the holiday savings account to make up some of that money. :)
Not spending any money at work today as per normal now, but have 2 lots of dance tonight so will update once I know how much the extra session.
    Have a good day all!

  • Ugh so annoyed I've managed to lose my pin number for my N*ti*nw*de accounts, oh well I'll have to hunt that out. I did manage to transfer £800 from my pay to our joint account. Not sure when or how much first bills will be so were trying to set up a buffer there should be about £1500 in there now, maybe a little less. Got the letter with a copy of our Deed of Trust in so if things do go wrong between us I know there will be no legal fights with regards to money and the only things tying us are a current account and a card with an £800 limit.

The letter also said we need to go in and see them so I'll be phoning them tomorrow to organise that :D

I was going to do some packing tonight but I've been in agony with my legs and hip all day so I think I'll enjoy sitting on my bed where I'm comfy.
