It could still be a food allergy. Manufacturers do change the recipes without telling us. Some cats can develop allergies after many years of eating the same food.
Hmmmm ok. Is it worth asking the vet or just switching food and see if it improves?

Have sorted out our travel insurance tonight. Managed to get one for £14.98 single trip cover for the 4 of us. Cheapest was £10.98 but that didn't cover airline insolvency, and considering the current state of Thomas cook I thought that was a good idea to have :rotfl:

Vet might suggest allergy testing which isn't always very reliable and costs. What food are you feeding just now ? It is tinned or dry ? Does it contain any grains ? If yes it might be worth trying a grain free food. If you want me to find out what is in the one you are feeding and to try and find you a replacement food pm me.

You're not allowed  any more. It's a banned smiley...

Try avoiding the dry stuff for a while. It's not good for cats anyway, and if he has a grain allergy as Van says, it should show up reasonably quickly.

It's difficult to find an article that's informative and short - but try this - even though it's long.

    Try this article also:

Will try and find the ingredients for the Tiger tinned food, and the dry, but if it were my cat I would stop the dry food completely.

The Tiger tins in JELLY do not seem to contain any cereals or grain, but the flavours in gravy do. I cannot find the ingredients for the dry food, but it is very likely that it will contain grains and cereals, so would be worth stopping this to see if it makes any difference. Ideally you would be better stopping the dry completely if you could.

Yep, one of my cats is allergic to fish, he gets very scabby because of it. Luckily my mum had come across it before, but the vet was impressed I'd worked it out as it's hard to find out the triggers in cats. A previous cat became allergic to fleas after our dog died, it was tied in with stress and another cat encroaching on her territory. She had some sort of de-stress injection and was fine after that.
