  • After being a right dummy I found my log in details and I'm starting to move my extra savings into my ISA finally. doing it a little at a time in case I need the money for house stuff or bills until we're sorted on our budgets. We've got a month coming up were DP will be getting paid less as he needs an op but I want to make sure we have enough in the pot ready to cover this in advance.

Found the paper part of my driving licence hiding away in my dad's wardrobe so that's saved me £20 :) apparently my degree is in there too :P he says he'll hang on to that until I'm moved in and sorted, can't replace that if I lose it.

Time to relax before bed :)

  • Glad to hear that things are slowly getting sorted Fallen!

Have had dance tonight, normal session was £4 and the extra was £3. Haven't got the extra session now until the week after next, and might not be able to go to dance next week as DP might be off doing something for his website. But we shall see.

The JLS tickets turned up today too so feel better about that! Still anxious about it because it's a lot of money and obviously my eldest would be heartbroken if anything went wrong, but I think the problem is my anxieties more than anything. I got them off seatwave which is a genuine site and the tickets have arrived, I'm just such a worrier! It drives me crazy. All I keep thinking is 'what if they're fake' etc. I really need to get a grip! Stupid anxiety.

Anyway, it's very nearly halfway through the week and I am already £3 up on my budgets. Hurrah! Looking forward to the weekend and our cinema trip.

In other news I've STILL not received my capital one card. Had the pin on Friday so know it's on the way. If I don't get it tomorrow I'm going to give them a call in case it's gone missing in the post, as the website said 5-7 days to receive it and it seems strange that I had the pin last week! I want to do my BT damn it! :rotfl:

  • That was quick for the tickets turning up, I've noticed that more and more lately.

Appointment set to go see the solicitor next Tuesday, hopefully that means we'll sign the contracts then and they can exchange and we can set completion whilst we're there. So excited, need to email my manager and book either a half day or a full day off, haven't decided yet as I have 24+1 days to use (I carried 3 over from last year and I've used 2 so far) so I should probably use the whole day actually and it means I can do come more packing in the morning.

Money has gone out of my HSB* account so need to check H*lifax tonight that it's gone in correctly. Paranoid I've sent it to the wrong account but once I know it's right I'll set up a standing order.

Morning all and Happy St David's Day to all my fellow Welshies!
Planning on doing my food shop tonight, as well as buying some daffodils to take down the cemetary for my mum, as she always used to buy me daffodils on St David's Day so it's nice to carry that on.

Will update later with my spending diary list!
    Have a good day all!

    Spending diary update!

    Aldi £40.58
    Asda £25.52
Petrol £25.01 (Damn that penny) :rotfl:
    Daffoldils for mum £1.99

This is a quick update as my laptop battery is knackered as is the power cable now, so it's likely to die any second! Argh!
Tried to do my capital one balance transfer as the card turned up today but then realised I'd cut up the barclaycard :wall: Also my online account doesn't show the full card number for security! What an idiot. Haven't got any statements either due to it being paperless. Have sent barclaycard a message requesting the number or a new card.. will have to wait and see what they come back with!

    What an idiot...

  • Just had an argument with Denplan on the phone, I used to be on my parents plan so my Dad cancelled this for both me and my brother however apparently this doesn't actually cancel it if you're over 18 it just transfers you to your own plan. We both got DD letters through the post so he had to argue with them as he never even goes to the dentist whereas I just had to argue because I'm changing to NHS. I don't care the hygienist costs £50 a time, I just won't go! Surprisingly I don't want to pay £4 a month either for accidental damage cover on my teeth. If I damage them it's my own bloody fault!

Ah well at least it's sorted now and my first NHS appointment (at the same surgery) is booked for the 28th of this month.

May get the opportunity to travel with work but I'd lose a bank holiday (Queen's Jubilee one) it's to Brussels for training but I think there are other people who are a priority over me, I'd love to go, never been before. Other than that my morning has had the excitement of doing a workstation ergonomics assessment which was basically me thinking the whole way through "I really really need to tidy my desk" :P

Texted our vendor to let her know we're at the solicitors on Tuesday (that's finally reminded me to email my manager and take the day off lol)! I'm so excited, want it here already. Tomorrow is going to be spent in the loft chucking out and bringing down things I want to take with me (like my stereo and keyboard, can't wait to start playing that and my 2 guitars again) hopefully it'll be a good clear out.

Oh and my Mam just texted me to say my dresses have arrived from ASOS for my friends hen do (bought 2 as they're probably suitable for work too) so I was good and went and paid the money off my credit card straight away :) Proud of how well I'm doing with that lately. Must find out when I need to pay the mortgage fee as that's £995 to go !!!!!!. Better than on top of the mortgage and gaining interest however.

Lunch time in 10 minutes YAY (yes we have it really early here).

Woo I'm back! Managed to get DP to fix my laptop power cable. I've been without the laptop since Thursday evening but oddly I've not missed it as much as I thought I would. I've also been able to get loads done without the temptation to procrastinate on the computer!

We've had a fab weekend if very busy!

On friday we had an xbox night at DP's house, after I went into GAME and managed to pick up 2 games for £1.47 cash, as we had £36 on a trade in card from before. We were originally going to use this on buying mario party 9 but the game group is no longer selling it, so DP ordered it off Amazon for her birthday and I managed to get 2 preowned games for that money instead so it all worked out well in the end :)

Saturday we went to our normal dance, which was £8 and generally had a lazy day saturday.

Today we went to see the muppets early this morning to beat the crowds. Because the showing was 10.30 we had a mcdonalds breakfast first followed by the movie. Was really nice actually as we were one of only a few people in the cinema so there were no queues or stress! Definitely much better than going in the evenings. :)

Now the computer is back, I've updated my budgets and will now be totting up my spending diary to work out my totals for february and will post them in a few.

But for now I will just tot up my spends for the weekend.

    games 1.47
    dance 8.00
    maccys 13.26
    cinema 24.10

My girls have decided to have sandwiches for lunch, so am saving £21 this week on school dinners, but I will need to do a quick top up show to grab extra fruit etc for them. I don't expect that to cost more than a tenner though if I go to Aldi.

Tomorrow night I'm off to see Matt Cardle in Brum. Really excited as DP bought me the tickets for xmas and it's been 3 months coming! Going to drive in as although the train is cheaper, it's been giving me serious panic attacks so sod it. Anything for a stress free life!

Will update again in a few once I've totted up my february spending diary totals...

    February spending totals:

    food 249.97
    petrol 125.03
    'other' 348.72
    dance 66.50

The 'other' is high this month as I had an unexpected trip to the vets, new glasses AND bought Ash's birthday present so it's kind of skewed it. Still shocking to see exactly how much gets spent though

Well perhaps birthdays shouldn't be in 'other'.

Well, not unless birthdays happen at random near where you are... ;)
