Getting there :T
This month has taken forever. Just been doing some sums and if I get paid the same as I did last month (which I should as I'm salaried but its just if any take outs have changed) then with £200 budgeted for travel and spends (I have to pay for my friends hen do trip to the races which is £45:eek:) I should have my over draft at £595.25 not too bad I think. I'd be more willing to pay that off with my savings if the bank asked me to.
OH phoned me last night to say if me and my Mam like the flat we're viewing on Saturday to make an offer there and then  Kinda scary him putting this much faith in me, I'm a bit nervous about doing that because I want him to love the place as much as me.
My only concern with it is that it currently isn't supported by Virgin fibre optics. Yes I know it's a bit frivolous and I'm not bothered about the TV or phone but high speed internet is important to me as I play lots of video games online (my only big spend since I started working was building my own computer). Ah well we shall see, I can live on normal ADSL I have done so far :rotfl:HSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

DEAR GOD what a day. I'm so glad it's over. I've spent 2-3 hours this evening doing work as well and I've only just finished. I'm totally drained!
Course the bonus of it being a ridiculously manic day is that I didn't spend any money :rotfl:
Tomorrow is the start of my youngest's birthday weekend. Hurrah!Budgets left for that are £50 for the balance of her present which we pick up Sunday (on her birthday) and £20 for our day out tomorrow. She's so excited bless her. Going to be a lovely weekend.
Have a good one all!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

The super secret £1 savings pot has been ravaged! But at least it was for a good cause. This morning my eldest asked if she could get her sister a birthday present. She's getting to the age now where's she starting to get an appreciation of money and was even saying to me that she wanted to get something 'under a tenner' (Whenever we've gone shopping for something or they've had pocket money I've always told the girls how much they have to spend then it's their mission to 'budget'.). She's also decided that she wants a new wii game, so is trading in some of her old games for one.
I did have a look at how much the trade in was on Amazon and CeX (£33 for four games) but as they're her games and she's going to struggle to understand the concept of online trade ins just yet we've decided to let her do it in shop. Yes she'll get less but she'll be able to do it all herself from start to finish so it'll help her learn to manage money in the long run. Eventually we'll teach her about doing it online and getting a better deal but considering she's 6 I don't want to drown her in complexities lol!
As much as I know that once they've grown up I'll have no control over whether they use their money wisely, I want to at least try and instill good habits and money knowledge from a young age to help them along!
She's going to grow up being a mini money nerd. I can see it coming!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Have a lovely weekend with your girls!
Just had an offer accepted on a lovely modern 2 bed flat for £111,500!!! Thought of you lot as I negotiated for the price and then organised to buy the washing machine, fridge freezer and a single bed for spare room for £500 cash. The oven and hob are built in. She's also leaving lights and curtain rails and other things which would help and save. So excited. Especially as it was offers over £115k:DHSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

Yeah  and I'm lucky as I'm in the North East but the estate its on is only 3-4 years old and they're fully maintained with an allocated parking space. I'll save £81 a month on public transport and it'll only take me 10 minutes to drive to work (will take over my boyfriends car and he's going to use the metro). The mortgage payments with maintenance charge added on will still be cheaper than renting for us so I'm happyHSBC CC - £3000 / £3000

Congrats fallen, fab news! Hope it goes through smoothly for you!
We've had a fab weekend. It's been maniacally busy but we've had a brilliant time. My youngest loved her birthday and was made up with her new bike and presents from other family/friendsWe went out yesterday and went to a big wacky warehouse type place called Jungleland (where adults can go in and play too
). We had lunch at Mcdonalds and then went to a local shopping centre which was about £13.
My eldest traded in her games and actually got £36, which was more than what amazon were offering! So for all my saying she wouldn't get as much, I totally had egg on my face! She's done really well, and bought herself the puss in boots game, but is saving the rest of the trade in money for another game which will be out soon. She also plans to trade in the puss and boots game when she's done with it to buy her new game. I also have some money on a rewards card so it's likely she'll be able to get her new game (think she's planning on getting Mario party 9) for free when it comes out
As a another treat for my youngest I bought her some black boots in the shoe zone sale (50% off, so were £7.99) which she can wear for school as well as at home. They were a bargain so I couldn't resist and she's having a foot growth spurt of late too.
Me and DP had a punt on the lottery at £1 each (first time in easily 18 months) and we actually won £10! What are the chances of that?! lol! We split it 50/50 obviously, and I got mine in £1 coins, so £1 has gone towards the school dinners, and the other £4 coins have gone into the £1 savings pot to start replacing what my eldest used for her sister's birthday present (which she bought and paid for herself).
Today we went and picked up the birthday bike which she absolutely LOVED. She was so happy with it. Definitely glad that she picked her ow present as it's so easy to get something for them that they play with once and then never again. She's already planning on riding her bike to school on the days I take her. Bless her.
So, spending diary updates
£13 lunch
£7.99 shoes
£1 lottery
£50.97 balance of her birthday bike
Need to update my budgets which I'll do in a minute. Also need to update my sig as I've not added the £4 in the savings pot yet! I've literally not long sat down and of course my first thought was to coming and updating my spending diary and on here :rotfl:
I've also been having some thought about setting up a 'house deposit' savings account. I spotted the nationwide 'save to buy' account which is if you save at least £50pm for at least 6 months you would be entitled to apply for a 95% mortgage (within 3 years). This got me thinking about setting up an account (with notice so I'm not tempted to dip in if there's any 'emergencies' to start saving £50pm or similar, especially seeing as my camera finance (which is £51.50pm) is not far off ending and I won't really miss the money. I know £50pm won't get me a house deposit within 3 years, BUT it'll be running alongside while I'm paying off the debt and once it's clear I can then throw everything at it and will already have some money to kick me off.
Going to have a look at the nationwide or similar accounts (or even just a plain notice isa) and will see what's around. If anyone can think of any other better way of doing it I'd appreciate suggestions!
Hope you all had a good weekend!Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
