Methekids May I ask where you have booked your Christmas shop as I have tried Mr T's and I can only book to 25th November.

We have been working on Christmas lists today. Kids don't seem to be getting much for the money this year. Was faced by out of stocks, good job I started early.
  • havent done much today either  DH not very well so ended up at the out of hours with him and have been doing my version of nursemaid and sympathy :rotfl: (poor him, im a bad patient and an even worse nursemaid)

have manage to get a load of washing in, didnt get the babys stuff washed which i wanted to do, so that will be a next week task now as I have to strip our bed tomorrow and want it washed and dried asap so i can book an ironing collection.

kitchen and living room are looking like disaster zones again, but its just surface stuff that needs putting away so will catch up on that tomorrow so i can cook lunch. was naughty tonight and went and got a chinese takeaway which was yum.

Monday - kitchen and dining room
    Level Two

    mop floors
Tuesday - Living Room, Hall and Stairs, downstair loo
    Level 2
Clean windows and all glass, including the tv screen
Wednesday – Choose a room which never gets much attention
Maybe snug, kids bedroom, spare room, conservatory - spare room as it still needs a bit more decluttering
    Level 1
HH putting all the stuff away and rehoming items to other rooms
    Declutter misson:
Sort through any cupboard/drawer in this room and have a good fling. - its all on the spare bed to sort as this was the room that got attacked yesterday by DH
Thursday - Bathroom and Study/Pc Area
    Level 1
    Clean floors in these rooms
    Level 2
    Clean baths, sinks and toilets
    Level 3
    Clean the mirrors
    Declutter mission:
Spend HH dealing with Paperwork, filing and shredding
Friday - Master Bedroom and Landing
    Level 1
Strip the bed linen and wash and replace
    Level 2
Hoover the room including under the bed
    Declutter mission:
Hotspots or boxes of stuff. I’m sure we all have at least one. Actually I wonder who has the most! Sort at least one of them, completely, properly not half heartedly.

    Challenges

    Thursday Shaker Day
What do you think about whilst doing your flying? All the other things you need to do? Today I want you to act like a Shaker for just 15 minutes. Whilst doing some of your flying I want you to settle your mind solely to the task in hand. Take pride in what you do and satisfaction from seeing the limescale come of the taps and the shine appear.

Friday Variety is the spice of Life
Bored of cooking the same meals all the time? Dig out a cookery book or search on line and plan to cook something new this weekend. It can be a dinner, cake or even breakfast – give your taste buds a treat. very fussy eater here even more so with the pregnancy so can i please be excused if I promise to cook something with the half a mountain of potatoes i have and put some veg in it? thinking a broccolie cheese as i dont like caulieflower?

    Thursday Car Prep - Done

    Friday Bedtime
Time to change the duvet for a higher tog; test the electric blanket; check the hot water bottles for leaks and get the flannelette sheets out. If possible wash light weight duvets before storing for winter – stored in pillow cases they can be left on the bed as extra cushions if you lack space or placed flat underneath the mattress for added warmth. - we only have the one duvet on our bed all year round as its a down duvet and keeps us cool in the summer but just right in the winter, DH has requested the flanned bedding through when the bed gets changed so am being nice and allowing him a choice between the opened cream pack or the nice new shiney never used purple or red flannel bedding.

My Extras that must be done today! (this weeks)
    curtains hemed!

What a carp day my DS has had.

Got a letter this morning from Morrisons (thanks but no thanks) AND he and the GF have split.
But his £25 Children's savings bond (what savings bond, he said, the one you have had control of since you were 16, said I, but I am keeping it safe for you I added) is now worth £56.69 and will get a terminal bonus if he leaves it a bit longer. Mind you, between you and me he has more than one;)

and DD has won on the Premium Bonds - £25 but better than a kick in the (whatever) - first time since I have been using the checker one of us ghhas had a win.

I got a surprise in the post (second one this week) my sister has sent me these (stationery addicts you are WARNED NOt TO CLICK THE LINK)

Great challenges Dusty... I didn't think I'd manage them, but thought i'd check (rather than pack) and have surprised myself!

    Personal Challenges

    Monday Trick or Treat
Today I want you to get somebody else to help with the flying, the more the merrier. Some of you are doing far too much for your household on your own (not all I know there are lots of partners and children who do help) so today I want you to either trick them into helping you and/or treat them for doing so. Any treat will do, bake a cake, rub their feet, just say thank you. If there is nobody to help then I want you to spend 15 minutes doing a job you really don’t want to and then give yourself a nice treat. DONE :DIt didn't happen till Wednesday but OH finally got so fed up with the broken loo seat that he fixed before I got round to it... Like LW I'm not going to discuss the nature of his treat ;)

    Tuesday Do it different Day
Most of us are creatures of habit, do things in the same way all of the time. All this autopilot is not good for the grey matter or the soul. So today’s challenge is simple, try to do things a bit differently. If you always clean a room clockwise, then do it anti clockwise, always use the same mug get a different one out. Always hoover the hard floor, try sweeping it. I don’t mind what you do just shake it up a bit.DONE :D mostly because of the dust I've done EVERYTHING differently this week :D

    Wednesday Water Squeezes
No excuses accepted today ladies. Pelvic Floor exercises please, need I say more? You know how important they are, you know you don’t like doing them but you must. So today everytime you do something related to water (teeth brushing, kettle filling, washing up, drinking, prepping veg the lot) I want you to do a few squeezes. DONE :DThanks Dusty :D

I'm not sure whether I achieved this or not. I have certainly concentrated when I've been painting, and when packing my clothes neatly in tissue paper :D

Friday Variety is the spice of Life
Bored of cooking the same meals all the time? Dig out a cookery book or search on line and plan to cook something new this weekend. It can be a dinner, cake or even breakfast – give your taste buds a treat. DONE :D did this earlier this week with duck roasted in the slow cooker

    Enjoy the weekend
Bonfire weekend so try to have some fun with family or friends or just catch up on some reading, knitting etc one friend stayed last night and another came for tea. Didn't have time to see my brother and the children.

    Preparing for Winter Challenges

Monday the clock have gone back summer is officially over
I know it is sad that summer is gone but we don’t want to keep tripping over flip flops on the kitchen floor to remind us of that. Today gather up all summer footwear, hats and lightweight jackets. Get rid of any that won’t be needed next year. Put the rest away checking that they are clean and shoes are washed, polished and reheeled if necessary – you will thank me for this when we get our first warm day next spring. Replace with gloves, scarves, woolly hats, boots and winter coasts. Check they fit and everybody is kitted out for the cold days which will be here soon. DONE :D All gloves, scarves, hats etc have been washed and put away neatly.

    Tuesday see the light
In case of power cuts make sure you have candles and matches, torches and batteries stored in an easy to get to place – no good rummaging in the back of a cupboard in the dark! Light a candle and hold it around the doors and windows to see where your insulation is lacking (ie where the flame gets blown) – please take care! If you have lots of candles then why not light one tonight in memory of all those no longer with us for All Souls Day. DONE :DCandles and matches on landing and in downstairs loo. Matches by stove. Candles in drawer.

    Wednesday Potions and Pills
Collect together all the suncream, aftersun, insect repellent from bags, window ledges, cars and either store good ones or bin dregs (or check you have enough and pack them for those going on holiday). Check your supplies of medicines, pain relief, decongestants, tissues etc. Check dates on items not used for a while like inhalers. Request repeat prescriptions now if necessary. DONE :D I have been buying up stocks of my tablets whenever I can find them. I also have painkillers etc, and have stocked up on supplements. I need to order more of the shakes

    Thursday Car Prep
Get your car ready for winter so that if you should get caught in the snow or break down you are prepared. Here is a great guide for what you could do.
No car? Give your freezer a good sort; do you have space for emergency bread and milk supplies. Are you low on anything? Could the freezer do with defrosting? DONE :D winter stuff is mostly still in there from last year  leftover Halloween goodies also stored in there. MOT done recently, and winter tyres bought ready to be fitted later this month. Both freezers are full, and I have plenty of stocks of food and loo paper :D

DONE :D We put the second layer n the duvet this week, and the mattress topper has been washed ready to go back on the bed with the underblanket when we get back.

    Weekend Outside
Outside winter preparation. Turn off outside taps. Empty water butts. Put away garden toys (clean) empty out pots which have finished and store. Cover garden furniture. Make sure the BBQ has not been left filthy for next year. Check supplies of logs and coal for winter. Do you have salt for the ice? Sweep up some leaves (of get someone else too) to prevent slippery paths. partly done... Outside tap can't be turned off, but has been wrapped up. All but two pots have been emptied and cleaned (three have been refilled). Garden furniture has been out away in the shed (which was cleaned and tidied). No BBQ. Logs, coal and salt are all sorted. No leaves on path...

Well, after a lot of hard work, my kitchen is tidier than prior to starting decluttering the pantry floor.

    Today I have:
    Cleared & cleaned pantry floor
Flung 1 bin bag of carp from Pantry floor
Freecycled an old Vax (collection tomorrow)
Put remaining stuff back in pantry + some other stuff that had no home
    Cleared and wiped worktops
    Swept kitchen floor
    SS hob
    WM & TD x 2
    DW x 1
    Put away some laundry
Walked to Mozzies only to find out they'd sold out of sparklers
Walked to town for sparklers & some other stuff
    Had backyard firework display

I am absolutely beat and very sore. I'm off to bed. Must get some studying done tomorrow.

    Nighty night. x

Good grief! I'd expect an entire jumper, and a good quality one, too, for that sort of money!
Sorry your DS has had a rotten day, btw; but well done to your DD on her win.

would anyone like a vomitting baby? one that growls constantly and screams in between.. She has reflux and sicks half of every feed and has constant tummy ache and I get nothing done! Which of course means Squeak wants me 100 times more than she ever has before..

I have an amost 11 year old kleptomaniac as well if anyone would like it? This week she has stolen a mobile phne as well as the usual stuff like ice ceam, cake, jelly etc that is meant for everyone (it is the sneakiness that makes it stealing and that she takes without asking) I am speaking to one of the local plod on Monday to get them to come speak to her.. I darent take her out in case she steals!!!

My kitchen is fairly tidy.. I have work surface, floor and no rubbish! Pots are all clean but I have 5 baskets of laundry. One of the spare double duvets is washed :D I was expecting a fight to get it in the machine there was spare room!!!!!! Love my new washer!!

:idea:What an excellent idea! I have some LO white'n'silver wool kicking about from a cardigan that I made (the wool was actually given to me, so very MSE):money:
I can't put jumpers on and off without assistance, but something like that I'd be able to manage, so it'd be good for wearing when Mr LW's at work.:o

    Go for it LW!
(at the risk of boring others...) I used a 5.00mm crochet hook and a 50g ball of rather thick wool. I did 60 chain stitches (enough to get over my head) and then did a row of double crochet. After that, I sort of freestylyed for a couple of rows using chain stiches, double crochets and single crochets then mirrored those freestyled rows before finishing off with a full row of dc .. took less than two hours!
