    Afternoon all

I've got two loads of washing on the line and it's lovely and sunny and breezy. Vacuumed and dusted through downstairs and washed the kitchen floor. I even got down and hand washed the bit from the back door to the kitchen door that always looks ingrained and that is much better now so I will have to force myself to do that more regularly.

    Monday Trick or Treat

Today I want you to get somebody else to help with the flying, the more the merrier. Some of you are doing far too much for your household on your own (not all I know there are lots of partners and children who do help) so today I want you to either trick them into helping you and/or treat them for doing so. Any treat will do, bake a cake, rub their feet, just say thank you. If there is nobody to help then I want you to spend 15 minutes doing a job you really don’t want to and then give yourself a nice treat.

    Thursday Car Prep
Get your car ready for winter so that if you should get caught in the snow or break down you are prepared. Here is a great guide for what you could do.
No car? Give your freezer a good sort; do you have space for emergency bread and milk supplies. Are you low on anything? Could the freezer do with defrosting?

    Friday Bedtime
Time to change the duvet for a higher tog; test the electric blanket; check the hot water bottles for leaks and get the flannelette sheets out. If possible wash light weight duvets before storing for winter – stored in pillow cases they can be left on the bed as extra cushions if you lack space or placed flat underneath the mattress for added warmth.

    Weekend Outside
Outside winter preparation. Turn off outside tapes. Empty water butts. Put away garden toys (clean) empty out pots which have finished and store. Cover garden furniture. Make sure the BBQ has not been left filthy for next year. Do you have salt for the ice? Sweep up some leaves (of get someone else too) to prevent slippery paths.

Oh dear - so much still left to do.... and will be going over to the other house soon. Think I will stop now and get some lunch as I missed breakfast and I am starving. I managed to empty 2 large boxes and put most of it away and also emptied 2 bags but the bits need washing due to mouse issue.

Right off to find some food....:)

:wave:PenPen - good to see you back.

Pottering has seen the Snug loaded with logs for burning, WM/TD/DW on, clockroom cleaned and the microwave lemoned and wiped.

Really very sore now, I can manage short bursts and then the throbby hips and knees start. Driving, heels and fibromyalgia simply do not mix. I must need that famous cure all - chocolate :)

    Hex sorry you're sore :(

DH is home. Friends arrive in 2 hours, some of the food is prepped. Need to get my act together now so I'll up date your stars later - You have until Midnight to claim.

Kaz is on duty next week so the new thread will be started about 9pm I think.

I think I can now claim my final Star for the Friday Variety is the spice of Life challenge; we've had a quiche, which is something I haven't made for aaaaages, with everything I could lay hands on that wanted using up thrown in! I doubt I could re-create it, even if I wanted to!:rotfl: And the best thing - there's enough for tomorrow, too, so I won't need to cook on Mr LW's first day back at work after his leave.;)

I had to wait til Mr LW got back from the Farmers Market to make it (I didn't feel well enough to go with him, unfortunately) as he was tasked to get cream while he was there. There's a stall that does delicious unpasteurised cream - knocks anything from the supermarket into a cocked hat!

He's also managed to get free range eggs, unsalted butter, 5 types of cheese, 2 types of bread flour, and a bag of tomatoes, so I think we'll be OK for a bit now.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Deeply envious. Even the gloriously yellow and thick stuff from the milkman is a different class to the supermarket so I know what you mean. All that lovely cheese too, yum.

Thanks Dusty - a one off though for the wedding, I usually try and work within my limits.

More WM on, and more pottering. Need to hoover and iron as a minimum.

  • Good afternoon :D
Did an hours studying before I got up :A

Bathed & pampered now. DH is home (for a little while at least), so we took the dog to the woods. Gives us a chance to catch up with each other :) Dinner is on (roast chicken, etc :)), DH has done HHI (DS's school uniform for week, so I won't need to do it in the morning :j).

Dinner will be ready soon, so we will enjoy that at the table :D Then DH has to go back to work at about 4.30 :( He has booked off 2 days this week, but I will believe it when i see it. I know better than to make plans (I am working anyway). Need to study tonight - big time!!

Ok. i am off to dish up dinner now :D yum yum!
