And...there is one parent who dumps the kid 45 minutes before the party starts and picks up late regularly.
What does that mean?
Surely you don't mean you would only expect that behaviour from single parents:eek:0 -
Hi MrsE what I mean about single parents (having been one myself) is that it is more forgiveable for single parents since there's not an alternative adult equally responsible for the children who could have the others.
Of course in an ideal world there's a non-resident parent ready to do that, but in reality this is uncommon.
eta there is, of course, no reason the single parent can't call in advance. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
it's more common for a single parent, or somebody whose other half works weekends, to have to ask if a sibling can come, or find somebody to give their child a lift etc.
What I've seen happen a few times though is that a parent brings siblings to a wacky warehouse for them to have a play and perhaps get lunch, but with absolutely no intention of them joining in the party that their sibling has been invited to - but the party host says no, they can join in the party, then other mums who haven't heard this exchange grumble about how rude that person was to dump siblings on the party host.52% tight0
