  • last year my insurance quote from Zurich was £217.31 , went through quidco and received £120 cashback ,then filled out a form about one month later to claim £50 marks & spencer vouchers for taking out policy and recieved two lots of vouchers ( £100 ) .So I figure that I got my car insurued for -£2.69 . Wish this was the norm every year.

    Car Insurance Carver! Cashback Cashier
My car insurance was up for renewal in Feb. I knew I was selling my car and leaving the country in May, but I still needed insurance for 3 months. The cheapest I found for 1 year was £224. I managed to get a quidco cashback for £90, meaning I paid only £134. I cancelled the policy after I sold my car at the end of April, and got around £150 back for the 9 unused months worth of insurance (they applied a small fee or penalty in the form of -1 month's worth or something like that.) Meaning I got paid £106 to take out insurance for 3 months!

It's got me thinking - what's to stop anyone taking out policies using quidco cashback, then canceling after 6 months and taking out another?? Cancellation policy would need to be checked first though. Car insurance will be free, or it would work out that you are paid to take out the insurance, even though fees may be applied for cancelling before a year is up!

He is 50 , clean US licence .

Any suggestions about how to get him added to my insurance without it costing a fortune and for longer than 30 days ?

Hi Guys, help please... where are you getting this £120 cashback from Quidco from? When I look, the best I can see is for the RAC at £70. CIS is only £15... and the Pru doesn't seem to be listed at all.
  • I've just taken out fully comp with Asda for £130.96 which includes protected NCB and legal cover + £100 excess (lowest). I went through topcashback and got £73 cashback, making the cost only £57.96!

These worked out cheapest for me on my insurance when some reprobates threw a bollard in the road, as I was driving.
I'm due for renewal and just noticed they do short term cover.

It used to be through Lloyds TSB insurance I think. The cashback offer has now been withdrawn at Quidco. Now you could get £90 thru Topcashback as the best i could find on a quick look. But choose the cheapest insurer first rather than by the amount of cashback you can get, and look them up on martins cashback maximiser search engine
