Hi, I am thinking of trying to make some of this but is it ok for people with sensitive skin?

Might be a silly question but I'm puzzled...

The recipe says to use unscented soap... then later goes on to say that you can add essential oils such as lavender to the mix.

So if I intend to add a perfume of some description - why can't I just use scented soap in the first place?

    Does anyone know please?

I've been considering this for a while and like the idea of powder rather than gloop. So off to Lidls and Asda for normal shop and looked for Soda Crystals and Borax. Gotsoda crystals but no borax. I'm sure I've seen it in Asda - or was it Tescos? Otherwise, I suppose it's Boots?

I assume that you are told to use unscented soap because you use a grater on it - or else because the perfume might irritate skin whereas essential oils are less likely to be a problem.

Well, searched this board for 'borax' and found there's some debate as to whether it's necessary so grated my bar of soap (7p) and mixed with an equal volume of soda (less than half of a 50p bag). Have measured out and worked out that for less than 32p I'll get 15 washes using 2 spoonfuls for each load. Brilliant!

First load looked good - bed linen in now.
