NSD today, 2 in a row:j Although I REALLY should get bread, can't understand how we've gone through 3 loaves in less than a week! I guess just because I'm buying 3 at a time and freezing them, and it's there - therefore it must be eaten:o If anyone wants a snack tonight they'll have to have cereal.

£5.44 in Lidl yesterday on 3 x mince, 2 x dark chocolate, an 'angel delight', a bread roll and some of their yummy chocolate 'dominoes' which I had to get as they're only out around Christmas :)

£3.00 in Morrisons on kievs and a baguette for lunch (which really wasn't very nice!)

£1.42 in Sainsburys today on a cabbage, bread rolls and some sweet and sour sauce.

  • Finally got to the end to update this week's shopping! Went to M0rris0ns, as it's nearest so I can get there & back on foot, with the aid of my shopping trolley! Spent £57.47, which included £15.92 on things that weren't on my list :o but that includes 2 extra packs of kitchen roll as they were on offer, 2 reduced soups, 3 packs of reduced cauldron sausages, 2 soya milks that I forgot to put on the list, a car air freshener that Errant Husband asked for & said he'd give me the money but hasn't yet (only £1.99 & he will give it back), and 1 shampoo & 1 extra conditioner as they still had John Frieda stuff on buy 3 for a tenner - they were £5 each, but it took £6.77 off, so that was good.

I did resist a few things on offer though, & added them to next weeks list to give me time to think about them.

I bought a bottle of wine last night before going round a friend's so that's another £3.60 as it was on offer - not too bad, till you hear I had a bottle in the cupboard but sent it into DS2's school on Friday as they had non-uniform day, donations £1 or prize for Xmas fair, so I sent in the bottle I got free from Ocado a while ago...

I've managed to not buy anything for the sake of it this week & went in the bank before work Friday am to get the bus fare, dinner money et change for the week.

I've been using Weezl's Cheap Family Recipe meal planner for vegetarians & vegans, but the boys don't like everything, including the porridge. I already had a stash of oats & long-life soya milk in the cupboard, so will be using those instead, but remembered when I got Alpro fresh the other week, it was a lot sweeter & creamier than the usual stuff, so my cunning plan is to switch to that, but use 2 parts milk & 1 part water... We'll see how the boys like that.

I've also set up a spreadsheet to record all spending, so I can how much is going on bus fares etc, & then set budgets for those too.

Just a flying visit to update on a NSD.

Have to take DD1 to hospital tomorrow, so that means I get treated to coffee and an apple slice in the coffee shop :D

NSD for us today as far as GC was concerned.

However, Him Indoors was kind enough to offer to head out into the dark to get chip-shop chips to go with his whoopsied chicken kievs and my fake chicken burgers. Unfortunately, our friendly neighbourhood chippy was closed [we don't go often enough to know their opening days/times], so he stomped off to the next nearest fish and chip shop, figuring it was worth trying another one out to see if it was worth having as a back-up.

Result: guy in the shop took ages to serve him because he had his back to the door and was online shopping, but when he did get served, two large portions of chips = £5  - and they weren't that great, either.

So, that's our treats budget blown for the week... but at least we know not to bother getting anything from there again :o
Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides. :o

We spent £20 yesterday night going to a big fireworks display, parking, and an ice cream each. We've been very good lately so it was a nice treat!

Also spent £26.58 on groceries yesterday, including £2 on some nice organic local traditional bitter in a pretty bottle for my Grandad who was unfortunately not well enough to recieve it and has gone back into hospital today :( Maybe if he is up to it tomorrow I can see if he is allowed a little sip to lift his spirits :)

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend!
