Small shop wasn't quite as small as I planned. Still managed to spend a staggering £70.30
. Can't imagine how much I would have spent if I'd needed meat as well. Oh well, have enough dog food for 2 weeks and toilet rolls for the month. Now need to work out what's wrong with the laptop, the task bar at the top seems to have disappeared!!

Hi All,
Hope everyone is keeping warm and well!
Because the company i work for has just been taken over by a company on a different pay scheme to the one i was used to, i got 5 weeks worth of pay on the 28th (will now be 28th of each month) so. . . i went to l*dl this weekend to make the most of the half price beef (and although it is quite fatty, i strain off the fat and add a stock cube), whilst i was there they had a non-food sale on, with crates of things from 50p - £10. I got some lovely items, a 8piece spice rack for £1, easter cake mould - pack of 2 - lamb and rabbit for £3, baking tins with 4 different patterned bases for £3 - suitable for easter, valentines and xmas! a caffetiere - for £1, 2 cushion inserts for £1 each (ideal for my knitted cover as xmas gifts) a toilet brush for £1, top for 50p, massive glass roasting dish for £1 ( i remember these being 14.99) glitter glue for 50p. . . lol the list goes on!
Anyhow, with my mince beef i made 12 batches of chilli, 5 batches bolognese, 4 lasanges, 5 shepherds pies. then with 4 chicken breasts i made chicken and chickpea curry, and finally with sausages i'd defrosted, a sausage casserole. Today i will be making fish pie with tinned and defrosted fish, and pork sweet and sour with defrosted pork, chicken in black bean sauce with defrosted chicken and lastly ratatuille & soups. That is enough meals for me up until xmas. . . scary thought, so, i am going to aim for a target until the end of the year (55days) of £100. this should be plenty, and anything saved will be put in the tardis for stocking up in the post xmas sales. (or xmas eve whoopsies)
Granted most of this food is currently in my parents freezer as my FF only has one normal draw and a half draw, and the meals are all portioned up in butter tubs, which when frozen will be wrapped into sandwich bags. . .
Can anyone give me ideas on things to make with turkey steaks? and a few more easy veggie options that i can freezer. I tried veggie lasange and didnt really like it, i do dishes like broccoli/cauli bake as a side.
Thanks

Just a small spend today at the local market, two gammon joints for a fiver, going to use this today and save the rest for sandwiches etc for the rest of the week, may freeze some as well so I can do some quiches maybe next week if I have a glut of eggs. Found some peppers in bottom of fridge that were on the turn so I have chopped and bagged and frozen as I dont know when i will get round to using them. Used the rest of whoopsied mushrooms with todays gammon and now going to have an Aunt Bessies apple and blackcurrant pie and custard, yummy just the thing to keep the cold out!!!!!SPC No. 295 - SPC No10 target £350

Hope everyone is ok today?
I have just had lunch and did extra sprouts and mashed potato so have made Philly bubble and squeak with the left overs.
Was going to have Steak, chips, mushrooms and peas for tomorrows dinner but now that is going to be Tuesdays dinner and tomorrow is: sausage, egg, bubble and squeak and mushrooms.
I have cut up my mushrooms ready and also cut up 2 pineapples and put them in tupperware boxes as I have pineapple for breakfast. So therefore containing the mess in one go.
I do like being organised and this thread certainly helps tremendously.
I am still having back trouble and have not been out, but I may get Mr Bb to get some wine for later and the X Factor results.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday.
Take care

Another £2.64 spent in mr S used a moc and got some conditioner for 25p, got some whoopsied smoked kippers for 50p and a half price bottle of strawberry ribena 1 litre and a pint of milk 49p
I am coming dangerously close to my budget, only 2 quid left, lol but i can do this, the milk gives me a weeks breakfast, i have some quakers porridge, 3 packs of 10 that i shall be ploughing through, and i have enough portioned up meals for lunch and dinners, so not so bad, more batch cooking next weekend.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Well, grocery shop week two and I effectively went £7.55 over budget!
BUT.....
I had a £5 off voucher, so I only spent an extra £2.55 (phew!)
I can tell you exactly what I spent over on - this being some Oat So Simple (£1), sweets for the trip to the cinema on Thursday (£2), some deli meat to go with tea tomorrow (£1.42), some juice because I need to carton for a craft projects (:rotfl:) (£1.36), and some other stuff!
But, as I was £1 in credit last week, I'm only over by £1.55 in two weeks, which I'm super happy about
Hope everyone else is fineDEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!

They are lovely eaten as steaks, baked in tin foil with a little lemon and spice/herbs of your choice.
I also use them for stir fry (cut them into strips and fry up with any stir fry veggies you like).
Also excellent for curries and casseroles!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.
