mupette would it not make sense to retrain in your previous profession rather than seek work just now and if you could do it at home it could be done at your own pace.0

no i dont think i am, nor does the consultant think i am, but i need to work for money, i get married in june i could wait until then, but i got slated for that, i want to work, staying home is doing my head in,

I refer you to post #39 - financial need does not suddenly make a person fit to work. You can't have it both ways.0 -
I used to be an IT engineer, there is no way i would be able to cope with that now, i can't even deal with my own pc health checks now.
but knowing that i can do all the boring stuff like filing, photocopy etc i'm happy to do things like that.
Although trying to sort out a OU course in bookkeeping in the hope i could do that and get a little job doing bookkeeping, but whilst i await for that, i decided that i really need to look for work, tbh feel a bit scared of applying for jobs right now, having to explain a 2 year gap, and covincing a prospective employer that i was good enough to take on.0 -

Why not send your cv to some local charities offering a few hours a week and see how you go from there, you could prove your worth and could lead to a permanent position, if not would look good on your cv.0

there is that option if there is no work available, but idealy i do need money, or me and my son will struggle more and get into debt, when i have just spent a good 10 years getting out of debt that the ex left me in.0 -

sorry did i miss out some coma's, gramer and spelling is not my speciality.
son is 16, what i was trying to say was that my son and I would struggle more, and I would get into debt.
Hope that clears the matter up0 -

I wasn't correcting your grammar etc. You said " me and my son will struggle more and get into debt," and I couldn't see how your son could be getting into debt if he's a child.0
