I got served a plate of pasta with dairy cheese on it last year. There was a vegan sticker on the plate too so it was lucky the waitress spotted the mistake straight away as I would have assumed it was a dollop of rice milk cheeze on my plate as I hadn't eaten that dish before. It was Ask restaurant and I got a free meal after the mistake. It's much nicer to eat in totally vegan restaurants/cafes but sometimes it isn't practical as my husband is omni.

Just got this free kindle book off Amazon, if anyone's interested 😁

  • Thanks candygirl - personally I don't have a slow cooker(one of the few kitchen gadgets I don't possess! 🙈😂) as I never got on well with them - everything tasted the same! 😝 very helpful for those who do though! 😁
Well, I didn't get round to doing the banana blossom...I was busy in the garden nearly all day yesterday so had a pizza from the freezer instead! I am determined to do it at some point this week though so will report back eventually!! 😂
I'm absolutely shattered and aching today so have a feeling that it will be ethiopian lentils and rice for dinner tonight served with carrot relish/jam that I made a while ago - I've still got a couple of injera in the freezer so I'll probably dig them out to go with it too - as long as I don't have to be upright for more than 5 minutes, I'll be fine!  😂😂😂

Guess what! I searched banana blossom on Sainsbobs’s website, and they stock it! 👏👏

I’ve got a trolley full of stuff waiting for a delivery slot, so have added it to that.
Would you Adam and Eve it! 😁

I’ll have to peruse the world aisle more often, if I can ever get back to shopping normally again!
    Can’t wait to try it!

    Excellent news Pyxis! 🙌
I haven't cooked anything for a couple of days now - I've gone right off food at the moment so dh is fending for himself! I frequently have times like this - they last between a few days and a few weeks normally 🙈 I may have a day of fruit to see if that gives me a kick-start! We've got lots in the freezer so I may ask dh to start using some of that up - often when I come out of these 'don't eat' periods I end up wanting loads of different stuff and cook for britain so could use the space! 😂

This week I got some sprouting beans/peas in my veg box, not sure which,  (in a punnet of earth, etc) and have just eaten them. Nice.

I was going to put the beans/peas and earth into the compost, but then wondered if they would grow again?
(I just cut the sprouted bits off with some scissors, so all the roots are intact).

Worth a try 😉 the worst that can happen is the they won't work and you throw them in the compost at a later date 😉

Yes, that's what I thought, and even if they grow a bit weedier than the first lot, it'd still be a few extra nutritious shoots!

  • Banana blossom was finally cooked! 🙌 it was okay - I'd had it soaking in nori, kombu and tamari for 24hours as I'd started it on Saturday but couldn’t be bothered to cook it until yesterday though so not sure if it was the normal taste or texture!! 😂 I'll quite liked the texture as did dh but I'll have to find an alternative cooking method - I really can't be doing with deep fried stuff! 🙈
Today will be a pretty lazy day - the weekend has all been about the garden and I could do with a break - I may just whack on some tunes, open a bottle of something sparkly and cook something random! 😉
