I know I thread-hop a lot, and when hopping between different threads with very similar themes, it is easy to forget which one you’re on.
(It also means I’m in danger of saying the same things twice on one thread! 😱)

However, being vegetarian rather than vegan, I have been guilty of mentioning cheese and dairy, so if you would rather I didn’t, I'll try and remember which thread I’m on in future! Sorry.

By the way, in case anyone doesn’t know, purslane is also really good for vegans, because it contains pretty much as much omega 3 as some white fish, so is an excellent way of getting larger quantities of omega 3 in one sitting, from a vegetable source.

I've never even heard of purslane!

I made a chickpea salad for lunch and had it with two small jacket potatoes. I wish I had some sweetcorn to go in it but had to make do with the stuff I had in the fridge.

I was just watching Madeleine Olivia on YouTube and she was doing lockdown recipes. She made a sweet potato, chickpea and lentil curry that looked really delicious! I'm going to try that.

I used to like the Wetherspoons' vegan Sweet Potato, Chickpea, and Spinach Curry. I haven't had that in years.

That curry sounds nice.  I wouldn't have thought to put chickpeas and lentils together.  I've made a sweet potato, chickpea and spinach  curry before and that was really nice.  Only had it in Wetherspoons once and the sweet potato wasn't cooked properly - it was quite hard but other than that it was OK.  Think my own was better!

Glad I'm not the only one who finds it weird to put lentils and chickpeas together.  Like you squirrelgirl I've served in the same meal just not in the same dish.

To cover the corpse issue - while I understand that it can be confusing which thread you're posting to, I would ask that you don't mention it on this thread - I have always wanted this thread to be welcoming to people with any dietary preference but as a vegan thread, the food on it should be vegan. Dairy products are mentioned regularly but as the vegan substitutes for them are so ubiquitous these days and used in exactly the same way, I doubt if anyone even considers the fact that the references are non-vegan.
I know that we have many contributers from all dietary choices (in fact there are times if I wonder if I'm the only regular poster who is vegan! 😂) and I really wouldn't want to lose any of you but please consider that there are a number of vegans who would be put off joining in on this if corpse appears to be okay to eat.
Now that's out of the way - I've never put chickpeas and lentils in the same dish either! I've served them as part of the same meal though - buckwheat with coriander and chickpeas, butternut squash slices and a topping of puy lentils springs to mind so not sure why I find it weird!! 😂
I spent 12 hours busy in the garden yesterday so didn't make the banana blossom- if I can move enough today I'll probably attempt it but there's no guarantee!! 😂😂😂

Thank you - a simple 'I think you might have posted on the wrong thread' would have resolved the issue (or tagging me or even a PM if necessary). It was a genuine error, not an attempt to disrupt the thread. It happens all the time round here, sometimes with bewildering or even hilarious results. I'll remove the offending post (or possibly just the bit of it, depending on what else is there).

BTW @squirrelgirl - Ethical Consumer are looking into input on Ethical Buying on a Budget. I thought of you as soon as I saw it! If you haven't seen it, you might want to contribute. Personally I find buying ethically saves me a fortune as I generally find that a bit of research means I can't actually buy what I'm looking at!
