Had some of the sprouted chickpeas today. They were OK but don't think I'll bother again. DH didn't like them at all, thought they were "weird" (his word not mine!). Going to try sprouting some lentils next I think but not sure when!

That's a pity that you didn't really enjoy them Joedenise, but at least you've tried. I'm just sticking to lentils and mung beans from now on. They work for me and I enjoy them.2

I spoke to dh about doing some bean sprouts and he wanted to know if we were buying another fridge!!! 😂 I've been cooking pretty much daily despite not needing to - I know that it's just something I enjoy doing (glass of wine in hand and singing my head off to tunes 😉) but I have to stop!!!
I've done chilli jackfruit and roasted tomatoes today - and the kids have been cooking too so you need a degree in tetris to access stuff in the fridge at the moment! 🙈
I've promised him that I won't cook again until Thursday so that we can eat some of the stuff and not run out of freezer space by filling it unnecessarily- I've also agreed that I will use one thing from the freezer daily when we've cleared the fridge mountain so that I get back in control 😂 I'm starting to feel like it's an intervention.....🤔😂3 -
Go for green or brown Joedenise, not the red. I've never tried sprouting red ones, I think that as they cook so quickly they would be mushy. I don't know that for sure though, it's just in my head.
I am so with you on cooking Squirrelgirl. I've had to stop, as I'm down to one freezer at the moment, and it's packed full. I would rather spend my day cooking, way better than doing housework. Music has to be on too, and kitchen dancing. I am going to do a stir fry for dinner tonight, as that's what I fancy, and really will try to cut the amount down, but know that I will fail.3 -
Thanks for that ToastLady. Will try green or brown, probably go with the ones I've got most of, LOL!

Good idea joedenise. Good luck.
I had a look online and you can apparently sprout red lentils, I may try one of these days, but after the fail with the chickpeas will stick with the brown and green for now.
Stir fry was lovely, with onion, broccoli stalks, carrot, sweetcorn, red pepper, lentil sprouts, walnuts, garlic, Thai 7 spice powder, soy sauce and bulgur with vermicelli, rather than rice. I did fail at one portion, so there's enough for tonight. No cooking for me today, although I may bake some doggy treats, as getting low.

I had baked beans on toast for breakfast. A classic! I'm going to have some fresh strawberries and a cup of green tea soon.
Those maple roasted parsnips were lovely yesterday. I got a big bag delivered from Ocado last week so I will make them again today.
I had some black olives to use up so I made spaghetti sauce yesterday. I froze both portions.2 -
Joedenise, after a video chat with DD yesterday, speaking about sprouting lentils/beans, said it was a nice wee project for my young GD to do whilst on lockdown. DD has no pulses of any sort at the moment, but uses red lentils most. So I soaked some last night, and now washed and drained as a test to see how they go, will report back and let you know.
Was so glad that I had made up too much stir fry, as the video call was over 2 hours long, and I was famished, so was just a quick reheat job.Never did get round to doing doggy treats, so definitely need to do that today.

Please report back with the result of your "experimental" red lentils
. Had a few more of the sprouted chickpeas yesterday with my lunchtime salad. Just enough left for one more salad but I'm having French onion soup today so will probably use them up tomorrow.
