I'd like to join in. Want to save up towards my first holiday with my OH. A few years ago someone bought me one of those tins that you need a tin opener to get into. Genius! Obviously, being me, it didn't take long before I got in there and spent the contents (£18!). Can anyone tell me where I can get them? I'm sure they only cost about £1.Getting older is inevitable, growing up is optional :rotfl:0

Hi no1gymbunny,
We bought some for young relatives for Christmas presents to hopefully get them to start saving. Ours came from Woolworths but we have seen them on a stall at a local market.
Whilst we're here.........can we join the challenge too? We banked £50 last year and so far have bagged £4 this year. Never been so excited to be handed a £2 coin in my change!!!!!
Target is £200 for the year to go towards holiday savings.
Good luck everyone.

All my £2 coins are being put towards a new kitchen
What a FANTASTIC idea.
At the moment i have been saving the £2 coins in an old baby milt tub but was wanting to make a papier mashe pig thing cos i have a sneeky suspicion that DH is "borrowing" some now and again.
I need a new heating system and was hoping to join the credit union with a view to using this to fund the blinking thing. If i use my £2 i won't need to borrow as much.
I will not be getting the heating till i am debt free which i hope will be this year some time.
Anyone else asking for £2 coins at checkouts?Official DFW nerd no 551 - proud to be dealing with my debts

2 x £2 coins in my change today, that's a £6 kickstart to 2008. Think I'll aim for £100 this year as my £50 target became £80 by 31/12/07
Mine get banked each time I reach £20, so I'll let you all know when I release mine back into circulationI reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.
