I am in an IVA but only by the skin of my teeth.
I don't worry about anything shameless and "methinks" if you're in an IVA you've still got a long way to fall - hope you have a safe landing.0 -

Get yourself a prepaid card, something like Cashplus or others, there are a lot of them about now.
You preload the card with money and then use it exactly like a Mastercard or Visa.
Cashplus costs £9.95 initially plus £4.95 per month or £1 per transaction. However, there are no interest charges. Have had my Cashplus card since about last August and it is invaluable for everything you mentioned in your post.
There is no need to feel out of place in the World, you just haven't got the right tools yet.
The quote you made from Richard_S's post was taken completely out of context and not in the spirit of the post as a whole, I've read most of his posts and they're an excellent mix of good advice and support, as are a lot of others on this forum.
What motivates you to start a post with the words "What nonsense" I can only wonder at - shame on you.

No , I am not ashamed. The post was written in a light-hearted fashion, JEY, not in the way that you chose to take it.0

You can "think" whatever you like. My IVA is not a monthly payment and is perfectly safe and secure.
I have a job in the financial services sector and my job is secure too.
Sorry that you have to take this attitude, I was only trying to help you out with what I thought was a real problem for you.
Next time I won't bother to help, if this is the reaction I am going to get.0 -

Hi shameless,
Your posts on this thread have been absolutely spot on, you're obviously a guy or gal with a lot of good information to impart and I respect that.
However, to start a post with "What nonsense" is not a helpful approach to take on this site, I honestly don't give a **** what you say in response to my posts but there are people who vist this site who are only a hairs breadth away from solving their problems by making the ultimate sacrifice.
Language, the way it's used and the inferences made can send all sorts of unintended messages to people, especially when they're facing significant life changing events and my advice to you as a person with a secure job in financial services, and a perfectly safe and secure IVA (whatever that is) is to be just a little more careful in your choice of words.

hey guys, this morning i woke up for the first time without a headache !! been through the bankruptcy and the OR interview was yesterday.
honestly, i felt i was in the deepest blackest pit with no way out and just wanted to run away and hide. snapping at the children for no reason and just feeling like sh*t every single day for months. stress levels went thru the roof.
i've come through the other end and i know damn well i wouldn't have done it without you and this forum (my 2nd home).
i am not goingto now disappear into the wilderness but would like to share any info i can and also offer any support i can to those people who are going through what i was.
chin up guys, you can do it, no matter how bleak it seems. it IS a hard road but i think worthwhile at the end62;)0 -
