I just took them to the till without any other purchase, gave the card with the vouchers and went through without a problem.

Thank you. I love a good freebie.
  • Am I reading this right? Waitrose and Iceland are just handing out a card that you swipe at the till, gives nothing in return and they get valuable marketing informaton about our shopping behaviour?

    More or less, yes.

Waitrose deduct 1p from each shop & promise that there will be treats in the future. They used to send out vouchers to try new products free which were good.

Iceland give out vouchers at times and you can win at other times.

I used my wrapping paper voucher on a 3 for 2 off christmas cards and paper. So I got 3 rolls of their £3.50 paper and only paid for the one! The leaflet that came with the card mentioned that there was a chance to get your weekly shop for free, but as I only usually buy a few items to cover the £5 for free 2 hour parking it wouldn't amount to much...

Hmmmm, am just wondering how long these are supposed to take to arrive. I applied a few weeks back and not heard anything yet. Am aware that Ocado (in their snobbery) wont deliver to me (even if I had that sort of money!) because I live in a "less desirable" area, maybe Waitrose have the same technology and have decided its not worth their sending me a card.

I'm surprised to hear that, where I live is definitely not 'desirable' but they still deliver.

    Life stranger than fiction?

    Lol at the link!

And I live in a very well known part of London, in a highly residential area. I live in a block of flats with lifts in (and all the mod cons..etc- its an oldish building but not that old!) I have seen Ocado deliver to my neighbours who live besides the block and across the road (the houses look like mansions and yet we don't get any deliverys. I doubt the boarder line for deliveries ends mid way down a fairly long residential street (especially as the higher up you get, the more expensive looking the houses) so I can only imagine its to do with my sort being not the type they want visiting.

Oh well, 1p off isn't all that anyway.

I've been signed up for years and got an email yesterday asking how I was getting on with my MyWaitrose card - I haven't received it, actually haven't received any vouchers for free items for a year or so and assumed they had stopped sending them. Has anyone else had the same issue?

Yes, they stopped sending out the vouchers for free items some time ago.

Might be worth your while to log in to

and update your account. I haven't checked the faq but there may be some info there for you.

I have been lucky and received 2 tickets for the Help the Heroes Rugby International last Saturday as Waitrose area supporter. Now just hoping to win the free groceries!!:)

    Well done!

I phoned them yesterday and they didn't take any details and just said that there was a backlog and to be patient.

Have just received a Christmas card from them in the post - with a £5 voucher to be used by 24th Dec, only catch is that it must be used with the MyWaitrose card!
