I do feel for you because at the end of the day this is something you had been really looking forward to and putting all of your excitment on, that comes across quite clearly. If people are unforgiving on here it's probably because a lot of people these days 1) don't think very highly of the music industry and 2) have been through far worse. You do have every right though to be frustrated because this was your experience but a couple of things you might want to bear in mind.
As far as I am aware when a performer goes on tour the management books the venue and ticket sellers are contacted, the artist has nothing to do with the types of tickets that are sold, unless they are being asked to do a 'meet and greet', of this they are normally 'told' rather than asked. Most artists would usually be too busy rehearsing etc rather than finding out about the types of tickets on sale so it is unlikely that she would have known you had paid the extra. She was probably just performing rather than thinking about who paid for which types of tickets. I have had both good and bad experiences with paying extra for concert tickets, I've done a meet and greet which has turned out well, I have also been sat right at the front with a cricked neck because it was too close and subsequently asked whether I could move further back. I do think it's hit or miss to be honest.
As for the people who got the freebies, that's just your bad luck and their good luck. My cousin is a ballet dancer for a well known company and she always gets free tickets for family etc at every venue she travels to. I have been to many of these and sat quite close to the front. I also have a friend who works for a concert venue who also gets free tickets, seating locations do vary. So this seems to be the norm.
Personally I would have a rant about it with your partner (which I'm sure you have already) and put it down to experience. I think you'll lose too much time and energy getting a result which you probably won't be happy with, and I'm talking from experience.
If you really want to persue it then keep it simple and be persistent but stick to the fact that you believe you were misold the tickets. This however is going to be hard to prove, you were at the front and right by the stage, that is as much as the tickets promised.Don't Throw Food Away Challenge January 2012 - £0.17 / £10

Hi Lizzywig.
Thanks for your post. Yes I do agree with you and thanks for sympathising. I am really frustrated and I have written now to Live Nation a more brief complaint basically saying that the view is restricted and that the tickets should be sold with this warning.
I believe that good things come with a bad and vice versa, and this experience is because I returned from an amazing holiday in Mexico where I had free upgrades without even asking ! LOL - karma hey, it can be a bloody B***h !!!!! ! xx0 -
I agree with Valli, as the experience is clearly NOT what the tickets were advertised as!
It's a little ambiguous though, as the stage pod tickets are described as:Get on stage with Rihanna! Our Rihanna Stage Pods concert tickets put you right next to one of the most successful R&B artists in the performance area. A once in a lifetime opportunity to see Rihanna up close and live while she performs her 2011 LOUD tour. Rihanna Stage Pods concert tickets give you access to the exclusive pod area which is sunk into each side of the stage. You can’t get any closer to her unless you are Jay-Z! Make sure you don’t miss out and get your Rihanna Stage Pods concert tickets now!
The blurb does say they're sunk into the side of the stage, and that you can't get any closer to here, but certainly does not make it clear that your view will be the odd glimpse of a calf or butt cheek!!
The fact that the other girls were on freebie tickets implies that the venue knew they were crap, as why else would they give them away?!
I'd say take it further and do what you can to get your money back.
Try not to waffle too much though - just stick to the facts!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
What exactly was wrong with the seats because it sounds like you only really had a problem with them when Rhianna failed to acknowledge you? When you got into the pod to start with did you think anything was wrong? Do you think you would have had a better view elsewhere?Wedding 5th September 20150

I feel for you as I had a similar problem with tickets I bought to the Capital FM Summer Ball a couple of years ago - they cost nearly £90 and See failed to point out they were severely restricted view.
Keep on at the people you bought them off - See gave us a partial refund as a manager finally admitted they should have pointed out that there was only about 25% view even from the front of the enclosure.
Also might be worth having a word with Trading Standards - Notts Trading Standards were very good with me about See and said their file on them was huge and getting bigger by the day!

For some reason I just have this mental image of all the fans being in those pods like Spinal Tap got stuck in:
And Rhianna was dancing near to them but refusing to free them.0 -

Hi Pink Shoes (LOVE THE NAME! )
tHANK YOU for that ! its exactly true and this is my argument - I'm glad you understand what I am complaining about. I have my complaint letter to Live Nation and I will take further for sure. This makes me even more determined.
(I have this awful habit of waffling - as you can see !:D)0
