Rihanna concert tickets RIP OFF ! HELP!

Good post, Valli.
The OP now knows who she should complain to.
OP:
Do make your complaint brief, unemotional and to-the-point.
Leave out the stuff about only having £100 to live on for 3 weeks.
Leave out reference to the Visa card problems.
Don't use terms like 'con', 'scam' and 'ripped-off'.
Don't mention the people at the concert who got in free - it has nothing at all do do with your complaint.
Don't mention how Madonna was with fans at her concert - it has nothing to do with your complaint.pixieprincess78 wrote: »Where was the thanks to her fans?
The only 'Thanks' Rihanna (and a lot of other 'big' stars') will give you is for your money.0 -
Likewise Pollycat (good post;)) - excellent advice on how to structure a complaint.
Keep in mind what you would expect by way of recompense - in this case I would assume a partial refund would be suitable.
What would you have paid had you bought restricted view tickets?
Incidentally the promoters are NOT responsible for the costs you incurred outside the event/travelling.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Your complaint is with Live Nation, get it in quickly before the tour is reconciled. Good luck.
The girl who got in free had a 'comp'. Comps are usually the best seats in the house/premium seating, and a certain number released for families etc. She may have been in on one of those.
Were you visible to the audience, effectively a part of the stage set dressing? If so, she might also have been 'packing', to fill the pod for appearences sake. Either way, not your business.0 -

How can you quantify "the best experience" you paid your money you took your chance. You said you are 4'11", I am 5'10" & I can't always see at concerts when tall people are in front. What grounds would you expect recompense ? Did Rhianna turn up on time ?, did she sing and dance ? was there music?. The fact your view was bad was no fault of the promoter or Rhianna. Suck up & move on. Next time buys Tiered seating.Every day above ground is a good day.0 -
Gothicfairy wrote: »You can't do anything about tickets given away as that is nothing to do with you or what you paid. I use to get back stage pass cards and free tickets as part of my job. I didn't always go as I didn't always want to watch the show and in that case I would give those tickets away rather then waste them..My job allowed me to give them away.
Your issue is with what you got for the money you paid and nothing else I am afraid.
Did you complain at the time ?
Hi thanks for all your replies.
Yes we walked out actually. Didnt finish the show and spoke to the manager. It was also her who replied to my email last week saying to complain direct to Live Nation. She was extremely helpful and really pleasant and understood where we were coming from.
I dont know, I just feel like if the tickets are the highest price ones for that show and they express that that you will have a rock star experience, that you will have one of the best views and nights. That is what I went for.
Madonna is my actual all time fave artist and childhood idol and I have spent hundreds on her concerts...and every time she delivered and always interacts with fans no matter where in the Arena she was. I dont mind spending money on her as Im always beyond happy and on a high.
I've learnt my lesson with Rihanna thats for sure !:beer:0 -

It would be nice if you came back and updated us on how you got on with your complaint.0

i REALLY appreciate all the above advice. Thank you so much.
Nige - my complaint is at the price they are selling these tickets and how they describe them, not at the artist or at myself for my height, or anyone else in my way ! - Im a known DIVA but spare me some credit! LOL. I think its a waste of money and YOU DO NOT get what you pay for, or what they describe it to be. If the tickets were described as "restricted view", like some tickets are, I would have no complaints. Its very misleading.
Thank you so much I will look into the above and thank you for the advice on the right way to complain too.....xx MUCH APPRECIATED0 -
If they do indeed make specific claims about views etc. then it's worth asking for some money back. List each claim they make together with your reality, e.g. "The advertising specifically states 'best view'. In reality, I had a poor and obscured view of the stage" etc.
Let us know how you get on."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
I go to lots of gigs and to be honest I've never come across this type of 'pod' ticket before, I think I'd also probably be tempted by the description though if it was a favourite artist so I also feel OP has a valid complaint, if OP can back that up with pictures of their view as well all the better.
Do let us know how it pans out. Fingers crossed for you.0
