Today is Lily's hearing test post meningitis. We're sure she can hear, but of course it has to be tested. Wednesday we have a paed appointment and all being well her immunisations will finally start on Friday.

So we have a fun packed week in store.

Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

    Good morning all

Had a nice weekend away with friends, just before we arrived the fire service were cutting down a tree that had got a bit wobbly in the storms and they managed to bring the power line down with it - so we spent the weekend in front of their fire with loads of candles and a pack of cards - was really relaxing.

Made a huge list last night of things I need to do round the house to get back on top of things, although on the surface everything looks clean and reasonably tidy the cupboards all need major sorting and every nook and cranny needs investigating.

We had a serious chat over the weekend about moving closer to DH's new work place, we've got a 3 month period this year in which we can move before DD1 starts secondary school. So my aim is to declutter and simplify everything so that packing will be made easier when it comes to it. I'm off out in abit to pick up some boxes to make a start on collecting all the ebay and boot fair stuff together.

Lasagne from the freezer for DH and I tonight and DD's have requested leek and potato soup with fresh bread, so stock is defrosting and I'll get that going in the SC when I get back.

After a look through the finances last night we also realised that we'd managed to pay just over £6k off our debt last year :j DH was very impressed as he just leaves all the money side to me, he hadn't realised we'd managed to clear so much and I think it spurred him on to clear the rest this year.

Hope you all have a great day.

Thriftlady and Chardonnay have you discovered the Games collections on Game website yet? You can prepay for a collection and just download the games. It costs around £60 for 6 months but they have a really good choice of games so there is invariably something for all the family. That's where I got Syberia one and two from, they have quite a few other adventure games on there too and put new games on every couple of weeks or so. They've just put Broken Sword Angel of Death on there which I can't find in the shops for less than £20. Unfortunately it won't seem to play on my computer, I'll have to get DH to have a look and sort it out for me as it should do!

Angels london, if you want to post your pic, within what Nelski called the cosy OS kitchen, there's a thread somewhere, where others have put their photos. I can't just find it atm, but someone else (or a friendly Board Guide :D;) ) might be able to point you in the right direction. Some of us like the anonymity of OS

Moggins, I'm off now to clean some loos...........

  • Good Morning All

JackieO - that is brilliant news.
Rchddap1 - hope it goes well at the hospital today.
(((hugs))) to anyone who needs them.

Trying to be upbeat and motivated today but can see why today is the worst day of the year. Its monday and its grey, freezing and raining here. Am in my office and will be most of the day. I have got some essential paperwork to do then will spend the rest of the day catching up on some of the horrible jobs that I have been putting off for ages. Im not looking forward to doing it but am looking forward to the feeling tonight when hopefully Ive achieved a lot.

So no housework for the next couple of days till Im up straight. OH will do any necessary stuff and I will probably just keep up with the ironing and cook dinners.

I too really want to lose a few pounds - this time of year doesnt make it easy though. Am going to drink at least a litre of water today and eat heathily with no snacking. No time for exercise (the puppy cant go out yet till 2nd injection) so will definately have to concentrate on the food side.

    Best get off now.

    Have a great day all.

Well not too happy, havent been on for a few days as we were without leccy due to the storms.
Had my lovely new purse stolen in Laura ashley at the weekend. Found out that DH is to be made redundant, possibility of relocation 5 hours away, but we only moved house last month and that cost a fortune.
Couldnt input any of my work on to the computer, and so now I wont be paid!
Grrrrrrrrrr, hope everyone else is having a better time, than me xxxxxxx

    Morning everyone

I'm still a bit ick at the minute, and while the awful pains I had on Saturday night have dissipated, I only had perhaps two hours sleep last night as it hurts to breathe! I've reluctantly called in sick to work. Unfortunately as I am still on a temporary contract which is due to be reviewed at the end of the month my illness record does not bode well for my continued employment there. I am pretty much of the opinion that my illnesses (three doses of the flu in the three months I've worked there) have been triggered by work - they occasionally have me packing the fridges (it's a supermarket) and I think that my health is suffering because of it. When I go back I'll chat to them and ask not to be assigned that sort of work, if they do decide to keep me on that is.

I must say a big congratulations to Gladstone...you can take a puddy cat out of the wild but you can't take the wild out of the puddy cat:D. That story really made me smile anniestar, thank you for sharing.

Off back to bed now...see you all later.
